Why would they not cover it, TRAINS covers just about everything else.
Norfolk Southern announced plans a few months ago to build a 112 million dollar Intermodal hub in my hometown. This hub is facing stiff opposition by a group called No Hub 4 McCalla. This group is trying to wreck NS's plan. I am wondering if Trains Mag has covered this and I am missing it. I hope thats the case. -Michael
I am currently working on converting all my cars to body mounted couplers, and I just bought a bunch of Kadee coupler boxes, but I totally forgot the whole part of how I need to attach them to the car when I bought them. What size screw is the best screw for the boxes? I will be drilling a hole and need a screw that will self-tap itself too. Where is a good place to get them? Thanks for the help. -Michael
Does anyone make a metal wheelset that will fit the bachmann cars? I am trying to upgrade my fleet of cars and I have a lot of the Bachmann "train set" cars. I am fixing to have a lot of time on my hands and want to upgrade my fleet instead of buying new, and I would like to keep the costs low. Any advice?
I have many spots, hunting and fishing. For fishing I have the NS's Bessemer-Mobile line, the tracks are about 10 yards from the lake. Then there is another lake right beside NS's AGS. And finally, where I work at on the Forkland Springs Catfish Farm the shortlline Alabama and Gulf Railway Borders one whole side of our property. For hunting, we have 2 greenfield associated close to the tracks and hunting from a legal distance, the trains are still clearly visible. And one day, a train went
Sorry to take so long to get back to all of yall on this. Yes it is a stock footage piece. And no, I do not believe it to be a E2. The relevance of it is I am trying to prove that Mr. Smith is from a western state in addition to what is in the movie. With that piece of evidence, I can do that, stock footage or not. Thanks -Michael
Michael, if the script tells you (through dialog, narration or words-on-screen), that's where the character comes from; the movie says so and that would have to be deliberate. If you saw footage of a contemporaneous UP streamliner, that does not necessarily mean that he came from a Western state. If the movie tells you he's from New England, the Southeast, Midwest, whatever, that's where he is from. You'll note some of the posts above stress that
I do understand, and thanks for getting back to me. If the lead character hailed from somewhere in the West, it makes sense to have him take a UP train, although numerous other lines' passenger trains would work also. Is there a "making of" book for the movie? Sometimes they excel at these types of insights.
Your welcome, but your the one helping me remember. For this matter I am assuming that the stock footage is supposed to be in there
I am writing this paper on the movie Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. In one scene of the movie there is a shot of a streamliner, I do believe a UP streamliner. It is not powered by conventional power, but it was the early days of their diesel engine program and this is not the M-10000 I'm looking at. I am trying to use it as a point in the essay but I need to find a system map and to find a link to a website that shows the early UP streamliners. Thanks yall for the help. -Michael
That sounds like a problem that I had. I took mine apart and found that the motor was defective. I would recomend that you do send it back to Bachmann.
