Kind of like this John..... http://s49.photobucket.com/albums/f293/OkieRRr/My%20O%20and%20G%20layouts%20-%20Indoors/?start=0 OkieRRr
My Aristo switcher, and my bachmann big hauler, have both been back to the shops for repair. The Buddy L is still going, no problems. I'm not saying that the Buddy L train is better quality, but not everyone has had a problem with them. Mine only has about 120 hrs. total run time, but light, smoke, sounds all still work, nothing is broken, and it pulls the 8 cars I have hooked to it just fine. It has never derailed, even over the 3 turnouts that it traverses every round on my layout. The set came
Well, I started in HO scale, 2 years ago this December. I have four 4' x 5' layouts. Then I added some 'N' scale. But was disappoined in the switching abilities of the trains. Next, I went outdoors with G scale. I'm happy with it, but a lot of the times, weather doesn't cooperate. Now, I'm setting up an 'O' scale (3 rail) in the house. Have it running on the floor, through 3 rooms. I'm just getting started with 'O' scale, so its my most active scale at the present time. I like the size, and ruggedness
I've got that set. Looks like the sportsmansguide is making about $100 on the set. A store called Tuesday Morning in Oklahoma City, was selling them for $99. They had a bunch back 6 months ago, but their all gone now. Haven't had any problems with mine. Loco has always put smoke through the stack, but I've never added smoke fluid. ??? It was my first set, and I have ran it alot, since its the only thing I have with sound. Has been well worth the $99 for the set. OkieRRr
Well, since everyone is testing guess I will try to. I'm not sure where to click to post a reply. I guess anyone of the 'reply' buttons on people's posts. test over <back to figuring out this new system> OkieRRr
Sorry to hear about your injury predicament. Hope all goes well. Good thing you can run a train controller with one hand. Now its just getting Lois to set everything up. <grin> Hope they find the problem, and reverse its effects. OkieRRr
vsmith .... I got my Buddy L at the same place, Tuesday Morning store. Not a bad price for an Engine, tender (with sound), gondola, and caboose. The track is 'Bachmann' similar, and not for outdoor use. I have not heard many good things about this Buddy L locomotive, however, though I'm just starting out, I've had no problems with it, and have ran it more than any of my other locomotives. I guess the sound is what makes me run it more. None of my other loco's have sound. It may quit me the next time
John... The Red School house is a bird feeder. The wife picked it up at Petsmart. OkieRRr
Great looking layout Ben. You have definately given me some positive feeling for my above ground layout. Those bridges are great, and the trestle looks great to. I'll be looking to find those items for my layout. After looking at your pictures, I prolly should have put in a few more curves. I like the looks of the trains going around them. I listened to much to those who said use biggest curves possible, and eliminate S curves. We have a Koi Pond, but the way our place is layed out, wouldn't be easy
Thanks for the words of encouragement. I had read about us 'old' guys needing a raised track, so we wouldn't have to stoop, kneel so far, and get the trains closer to our eyes to see them. <grin> But then after I built it, I began to wonder how to add detailing to the raised area without just making it look like a very extended bridge, or trestle. Guess my best bet, is to get some 'fill' inside the oval, and build from there. Anyway, my next project, Phase II, is to build a siding yard, so
