Marc, CMR Buildings are first rate kits. The structure is made with laser cut white acrylic. They are able to scribe in mortar lines and a lot of other detail in the surface of the acrylic. With the exception of the newest 'really tall' kits, I own just about every city building kit they offer. I also purchased the Add-On kits for some of the buildings so they'll be even taller when assembled. Their customer service is also first rate. Every time I've emailed or called with a question
Good evening all, It's been some time since I last darkened the threshold of the forum. I figured even though these have been posted before, I wanted to post them one final time before the layout comes to its demise. Due to a rather large change in my personal life, the layout will be taken down. In my current abode, there is no room for it. I'm trying to figure out how I can take it apart and possibly put it into storage for some day in the future when I might once again have room for a
Assuming you're talking about HO scale, here are a couple of links to some 'must have' items for your railroad: http://www.kadee.com/htmbord/page205.htm http://www.kadee.com/htmbord/page237.htm Don Z.
Since the discussion is now 3 miles east of anything railroad related, it's time to close up shop and move back to railroad related discussions. Don Z.
Charlie, I have to ask: What is the cause for all of your frustration and why do you think tearing your table apart will help? Don Z.
I don't know if a trading post will pass the smell test.... In the past, members (myself included) have posted items available as a give-away, sometimes requiring the claimant to cover postage only. These were okayed by the powers that be simply because they don't occur all that frequently. I'm afraid if a trading/bartering post were allowed, the floodgates would open and we'd be submerged in threads from people wanting to trade their items as well. Don Z.
I received the following information in an email this morning from Athearn: Athearn to Offer SoundTraxx Tsunami Equipped Locomotives Athearn Trains is excited to announce that all sound-equipped HO-scale Genesis locomotives, as well as Athearn N Scale and Roundhouse sound locomotives announced after April 27th, 2009 will proudly feature SoundTraxx Tsunami Digital Sound Decoders. Custom designed for Athearn, these state-of-the-art Digital Sound Decoders will include the following features: Tsunami
Good move. How many others have basically stopped even looking at Athearn because of the MRC decoders with their quality issues?
Count me in....once I heard of the proramming and running issues of the MRC decoders, I simply crossed Athearn off of my shopping list. I've passed up several models that I really wanted simply because of that dreaded decoder. Don Z.
Just one question? How will one be able to know that what they are buying is not the MRC decoder? Will Athearn / Roundhouse put a big red sticker on the box labeling it as a Soundtraxx? I'm wondering how many will buy a new loco and not realize it's a MRC until it's too late. I can see more bashing coming very soon..."Well I didn't know it was a MRC." or "Why didn't Athearn put a label on the box?" I know I'd like to
We all know that the forum software has a hiccup now and then that produces the Ooops message. Is there really a need to start a new thread to kvetch every time someone receives the error? Do you run to Microsoft's web site to complain every time Windows locks up? If you get the error, maybe that's a subliminal message that you should go work on your layout for a bit and then come back later to see if the forum is working. There are much bigger problems in the world..... Let's get back
