In addition to the sources you have been given, take a look at Woodland Scenics vehicles, they have a few 1940's cars and trucks as well. http://woodlandscenics.woodlandscenics.com/items.cfm/AutoscenesHO
At long last the 1950 Dodge cars arrived at MB Klien. I ordered some for the layout, will be glad to see more of a balance of 1950's vehicles on the layout.
I have before me one of the new Hornby/Rivarossi 60' coaches and one of the coaches from the older 4 car sets. I can see no difference between the two what so ever. Same metal wheels sets and the same body mounted pivoting kaydee (I assume) couplers. I have been keeping an eye out on e-bay for the 4 car Rivarossi 60' sets. Depending upon the road names bidding seems to vary from around $50.00 to $100.00 plus. The Union Pacific set seems to be the most expensive. I was lucky during the summer

I am looking forward to obtaining a number of these to add to the vehicles on my layout.

In the book "Steam Along the Boundary" a Shay engine is pictured along with the caption of hauling over 20 ore cars from the Mine to the Smelter. This is one of the larger Shays that the CPR ran in the copper rich Southern British Columbia.
I see that at long last the "new" Rivarossi 60' coaches are now showing up at various hobby/train stores. They are, however, limited to only two road names the CNW and the Pennsylvania railroads and an undecorated series in Pullman green paint. I contacted the Hornby/Rivarossi customer service center to ask if these coaches would be released in any other roadnames. I also asked it other than the coach and baggage car if any other cars were to be released. The answer was that they were
It's possible that that the locos in that first photo actually have black trucks. That B+W photo is so washed out I couldn't verify what color those trucks are.
Check third picture, I amended original post.
