Ya, the 662 did make a swing by here. Of course, it came in at 7:30 at night and left at 1:30 in the morning, so I missed it....One of the larger blunders ever on my part (atleast with WC Transfer stuff). The kid that told you about it used to be a friend of mine, but we had a falling out and now he wont let me know about this stuff. Funny, because I would always let him know of neat stuff that has been coming in at New Brighton for the last 4 or 5 years. But, enough with my rant, just really dont
Ugh, Robby take Jordan down to Barr Yard to show him what SD40-2's are supposed to be doing, pulling mainline trains! I live by the BNSF, and besides the few resident SD40-2's that have been around here for months, there is nothing to look at. I would definately rather be shooting UP SD70M's and family than that BNSF orange..... That 6873 was a nice catch, though! I made three trips to Chicago this year, and shot nothing but CSX and affiliates at Blue Island and Dolton. Next time you
Thanks Robby. Yup, I was happy to see that consist placement. I would like to go look at that SD18 sometime as well. Alec
Jordan, looks like it was a pretty decent trip. You got alot of Blue and Yellow, even though Im always just as happy with a CP in the lead because someday, it will be cool to have the "transition" era of the DME/ICE. Actually, that day is today. The thing with these railroads, you have NO CHANCE of getting screwed by a widecab. Zip, natta, zilch. Can't say that about many other places with that large of a railroad to traverse. South Dakota, umm, well, lets just say your not always sure
Western Wisconsin on the Old GBW is great for scenery, on the other hand. Follow the L577, once you start getting close to Independence and Arcadia, the shots become very very nice. I never did get any shots of that train south of Arcadia, because they didn't have any cars to interchange with the BN, but its definately worth a jaunt over there. Even more for Jordan, since you live rather close to Rapids anyway. Alec
Ya, I told Douglas about it, and then ofcourse he goes to steal all of the glory everywhere.... Ya, when I went down to Lafayette I went over Homewood and caught a glimpse of corpses lying everywhere, man that place is more of a graveyard now than ever! Alec
Hey Robby, whats up...... And no, you never gave the WC's back, so Im keeping this one! LOL! Yes, Im very distraught seeing those CSX catches, the lead engine in the second picture is an SD50(possibly an SD50-2) not an SD60. I like CSX too much, I was down there shooting great CSX stuff and still get mad when I see them come by here and dont see them... Robby, if those SDP40's are heading to EMD, then they would probably use the BN to get there, yes? If you got any intel down there when they
Nevermind.....looking into they were already rebuilt. Fantastic....
Atmo, that is really neat! Should look nice hanging up on the wall. Nice shots Brent, those LMS units are really beat up. Jordan, now the LS&I is getting SD40-2's? From who? I know Ive been gone for a while, just kinda got busy and forgot about the forums. Since early April I have seen/shot a few good things. Took a trip out to South Dakota and Southern Minnesota to shoot the BNSF's 601 roadfreight that runs from Aberdeen to Willmar. Oh, and it had four SD40-2's for power, the first
"what else could i ask for? umm lets see some nice power on the CN for once?" Ya, good luck with that one, Brent! Well, today it was an unusually long outing with my friend since he had the car for the day. We spent the majority of the time in Saint Paul, but ventured a little East and West a few times in the process. Highlights were the Ford Hauler (maybe the last time I ever shoot it?) with the SOO 4446 and the SOO 4512. Only one auto parts car. LLPX 2213 was in the UP's Belt Yard
