I have been wanting to get into Mac OS and iPhone/IPod Touch development and over the summer I managed to teach myself a good deal of Objective-C (used to create applications) via a book and hopefully begin a book on iPhone/iPod Touch app development soon. Having always been a railfan I was thinking what could I make that would benefit the hobby. A few ideas came to mind, but the main one centered around this... A lot of times as I went railfanning I noticed many people who log information in regards
Well I don't have anything amazing too add this week just more progress on my layout, I started laying cork (in my opinion, the worst and hardest part) on my layout so far 20% done about.
I never really balasted before, I plan on reading up on it and doing alot of practice before hand when I get too that point...
I have a MRC Prodigy express with one throttle. I was wondering if it was possible, considering if I wired it correctly and only used one thottle controller at a time, to run a ethernet cable from the DCC system to a spliced section where it would sperate into to connectors traveling too opposite sides of the layout? So I can use the controller on both sides without having to run a long wire but instead have two moderate length wires to connect too that would lead too the system. Below is a diagram
I just tested my theory and it works without a hitch... But thanks for everyones input.
The thing that keeps me from going to them is the fact there is none near me, closes one is 2 hours away that is once a year...
Conrail, liked the site for your layout, I look forward to seeing videos if you have any. I also like that your trackplan isn't too big and complicated, looks like things are coming along well.
Thanks, that is one of the nice features of an Apple Computer and Operating System. It comes with this handy software called iWeb that you can use too make some nice sites... Not much to video tape at the moment, other then empty track and styrofoam, once
I own a MRC Prodigy Express, and just the othe day I finally got another decoder for my other locomotive. Currently I have 2 DCC equiped locomotives, Today I was trying to create a consist with them this worked quite well but when I wanted to reverse the one locomotive in the consist I could not. I followed the directions and when adding the locomotive to the consist I hit the "Direction" button but the locomotive remained in the default forward and would not change. Am I doing somthing
The Dash 9 has a Digitrax DH163AT and the SD75 has a NCE DA-SR the consisting feature works and I have used it multiple times but it wont let me reverse either locomotive.
I'll give that a try tomorrow... Is the direction thing a glitch the in the Prodigy Express where it just wont work?
