Carumba. I see the moderators deleted my photos of layout building from the Sunday Photo Thread. Is this a new policy that you don't want photos of train layouts? If that's the case, maybe someone from CTT can give an answer regarding what type of photos does CTT want? I'll put up a few more backdrop building photos just too make sure CTT doesn't want any more layout photos.
my uncle or grandfather had painted them silver and blue at some point
That is a shame.
Recent production Lionel o72 switches are extremely unreliable with post war trains. I had one on my layout which I had to tear out because so few of my engines would run through it without derailing. These were not ordinary derailments, either. My 681 would fall over on its side trying to navigate the switch. Most trains would ride up higher through the switch. A very very bad product, at a very high price.
There was recently a thread on the OGR Forum where I believe it was stated a Beep would run on SuperStreets track, which makes a 21" diameter circle. You may want to search OGR to be sure.
The postwar Pennsylvania 2028 GP with a string of postwar Pennsylvania freight cars, a searchlight car and a classic 6457 postwar lighted caboose. I have recently torn up the lower siding of the upper level in order to eliminate the grade, allowing trains to be run at a much slower pace.
Here's sixteen pages of MPC era material posted on another forum:
I went five years without an Alco set on my roster, and in two weeks, now I have two of the nicer ones - the 2033 UP 50th Anniversary set and a new running mate - a 2031 Rock Island A-A set. For a dose of post war whimsy, I also acquired a really excellent 3444 Cop & Hobo Gon:
My layout is 11.5 x 11.5 in a spare room off the garage. In hindsight, I could have used a 13.5 x 17 room that was more in the body of the house but an off to the side room - as opposed to bring in the mainstream of the living area. Depending on where in Florida you are moving, you want to take into consideration the heat can be oppressive if you aren't near a cost. Which may make a garage layout impractical. The real estate market is severely devalued and certain types of banks are sitting on
I was thinking about how you were saying to elevate each track while I was building a display at work tonight, and I am wondering if I could use pieces of ceiling tiles under the track to elevate it. What do you think?
You could use the tiles under the tracks which are now on piers and position these in such a way that they are more like ramps of terrain that flare out from your central elevation. Not sure I explained that very well, but give it some
