It would have gone back to the shop ASAP. I think it would look much better on a Suburban, Land Rover, Excursion or similar large vehicle shaped more like a locomotive.

With a light bulb brightness is dependent on voltage so effects are fairly easy to program on a digital circuit. The brightness of an LED is determine by current. They like ON and OFF a whole lot better than dim. To get good effects with an LED one must develop a circuit that can vary the current to get the dimness

Do the directions call for using the motor as ballast in the circuit? Is the circuit supposed to be in series with the motor? From the description it sounds like it is in parallel.
