The December CTT issue was outstanding. Christmas and toy trains fit together like a hand and glove and Roger and Carl did an outstanding job showing that connection. Earl
DA, Try tilting the lumber mill back slightly. I raised the front of the lumber mill 1/4". That eliminated all jamming in my lumber mill. Good Luck... Earl
Has CTT ever considered producing classic toy train videos? Kalmbach produced a series of videos promoting model railroading, but they had few O-Gauge entries and almost no toy train material. Tom McComas puts out some excellent videos, but they have fallen to once a year and are starting to lean to high-rail. I would like to see CTT produce videos devoted to toy trains. I believe there is sufficient market to justify the expense. Since CTT is already in place at various layouts to take still shots
I signed up to get the CTT newsletter some time ago. Unfortunately, when I signed up for the CTT newsletter, I also get newsletters from Model Railroader Garden Railroad and the Trains magazines. Is there a way to just get the CTT newsletter? Earl
I didn't go the unsubscribe route because I suspect that I will also loose the CTT newsletter, which I want to keep. I only signed up once to get CTT. Earl
Please tell us how you resolved the problems once they are fixed. Thank You... Earl
I think one of the reasons I have experienced so many failures personally, is because I buy a significant amount of product. The modeler who purchases fewer items would have lesser odds for a defective product.
The modeler who purchases fewer items would have EXACTLY the same odds that you do for a failure. He would have fewer failures because he purchases fewer items, but the same odds. If train manufacturers built in a failure based on the number of operating
Rick, You are leveling a very serious charge at train manufacturers, while offering absolutely no proof that ANY train manufacturer has built in technology designed to make the train fail. That type of hypothetical speculation is not worthy of this forum, IMHO. If you have some proof, let's hear it. Earl
OK, let me try this. There is a possibility that the train manufacturers are including the H1N1 virus in every new train. I never said that they are actually doing it and I have no proof that they are doing it. I would like to include the following disclaimer: I NEVER STATED ANY MANUFACTURER WAS ACTIVELY DOING ANYTHING! Earl
Your problem with the Hudson sounds like a classic e-unit problem. I would suggest the following: 1) With NO power to the engine, rap the engine sharply on top of the engine above the e-unit. Sometimes the plunger is a litlle sticky or polarized and gravity fails to pull the plunger down. When the plunger fails to come down, the e-unit will not cycle. Apply power and see if the engine moves. You may have to repeat this several times for success. 2) If item '1' above does not cause the e-unit
