Yes, and they don't have the info. I'll have to pull out my old spotters guides, and see what they say. Anybody have a photo of a F40PH's builders plate??? :) Phil
I'm trying to replicate the builders plate on AMTK F40PH #203, and am trying to find out what the EMD rated tonage on a F40PH is. Phil
I've always wondered if UP did anything to the 6936....Can it still produce 6000HP? The Dakota Southern has one in Chamberlain, SD. Funniest thing to see in the middle of nowhere on 60lb rail!! Phil
"1,000 posts and counting" ...of NON THREAD RELATED INFO Phil
What reminds me of what you are talking about is Aurora, IL. When you are at the Metra Station, you have the Metra Tracks in front of you, and the BNSF freight tracks (possibly also used for passenger) are elevated above those tracks. Also, towns along the Soo Line like Waupaca and Amherst have elevated tracks, and they have what you could call "frontage tracks" that come down, and are used to service the local industries in the town. Would Trains.com be so kind as to remove that comment from the News Wire? It really degrades from the credibility of Kalmbach Publishing by posting information that they know is offensive to many people, including myself, and downright wrong to begin with. Phil
Seems that about once a year, for forever, we have had one of these threads. For the record, I have stuck my hopes with PCM and BLI in the trash. When, and ONLY WHEN your model is finished, or nearly finished with the tooling, and production is about ready to begin, should you announce a new model. By the time they get to it, it would have been announced for 5 or 6 YEARS. Forget it PCM and BLI. I hoped for the S2 for many years, and even if you do produce it, I will not buy it anymore. (GO MTH!)
Some people think that a SW would look strange with a large plow...Cass Scenic Railroads' new GE 44t has 2 of those large plows on a detachable pilot. I saw them seperate from the loco, but I can't wait to see them on it and running! Should be unique indeed. Phil
How many of us are tired of USRA locos.... I'd like more prototype road locos. Now, if that UP 2-8-2 had a UP style headlight and config, it would be cool. But, as is, it's just another USRA engine in different paint. Phil
Looks like a GE 50T (still has the cute noses and the cab, but has the non-siderod (that means it has 2 traction motors on each truck) trucks) that has a lowered cab for some industrial purpose. Phil
