stem from the locomotive crews not being adequately instructed/schooled/trained in the nuances of 'Distributed Power' hook-ups/add-ons. When I hostled they just handed me a pamphlet and said "Qualified".. ABTH rules has it step by step to link up and unlink. But they neglect one status message that pops up and says clear pcs.You dont have to. You have to wait till the light goes out and hten continue. SO the first couple times it took me a bit. In class we did some on a simulator
Wow Jim thats pretty cool! Mr Link would love that shot I am guessing Gary Mullis is a fan of his work? As for friends of the 611. It would be tough but not impossible.I dont get the track geometry deal. If that were the case no steam would run. Plus most of the tracks I have run on have never been changed I think that might ahve been a piece railroads used to keep steam specials off their lines. Friends of the 261 are looking for a loco now, but I dont know if 611 would fit the bill or if they were
You get one of them Q hudsons running adn i will be more than happy to run one. Sowould about 3 other guys who actually did run them in service ( granted by the time this could be pulled off they would already be running them at the big railroad in the sky) Great fellas who were Q employees and cometo RR days and give little tours of the one there.I know how to pop the top of the speed recorder and where to put the block of wood lol. Seriously though nothing wrong with one of them Hudsons. I dnt
What a shame. I hope they get 265 running but thats a pie in the sky idea right now.NRM thinks they can run 261 like the friend did? Good luck with that.I have a feeling when all is said and done they will regret this.
A manifest train can have everthing in it up to the kitchen sink. Everyone posted great examples and here is one i have seen.Sometimes youll get a train with a B/O car in it. The carmen fix the car and off it goes on any junk train going that direction. We had 4 loaded coal cars in our local one day.Had to get to Chicago to be sent further east after a problem had been discovered on those cars. Most of the time with auto racks on our line right now, its that only a few are going that way and well
They are routed back mty. They actually go to East Moline for Combine loading.Stored on the BNSF there. Deere itself still loads a few then an outsourceing complany loads the bulk.Back when Case was still here we would see flats for miles in that section of town. Some getting green others red. Majority of the combine loads are fo export, however there is still some that roll loose car to a dealership ( very few have spurs anymore) The Waterloo plant is the same way too. Also when Case was here they
Oh my! Well one of mine from jsut about any line I have been on. Trackside ladies flashing,oh and the less popular ones,Trackside kids mooning.Seen both and well only two were picture worthy lol. Hmmm hot Railfan chicks? Train masters in the weeds? RFEs with radar guns?OHHH I know one for trainmasters! Which weeds will make you itch and ow to avoid them!
Wow I have been away from the scene a while lol.Now I like the Wii idea. I remember teh smells guy. But if I want my midwest layout to smell like the midwest I can jsut open the window!lol
Just sorting through some CDS and found the Bob and Tom skit for the Norfolk and Way Pal railroad. Ship it over night coast to coast by train! Norfolk and way pall!I think that sums it up best lol.
Thats awesome! Kind of eclectic but still. I think MC has a great point. Time to send eympathy cards to the roadmasters on those lines lol. I remember when I was a kid with a 4X8 layout and I wanted a bigboy,a Allegheny,a DD40 oh and some other huge power. Just cause it looked "cool".Is that what Ed is doing here?I wouldnt want to run them anywhere but on a mainline. But to each his own I guess.
