The house still smells like gunpowder from all of last nites illegal fireworks. But I did notice there seemed to be less than past years so I think the economy had a lot to do with that. S.J.
Around here there were more "home fireworks" than I can remember in previous years. At one point it seemed like a couple neighbors were engaging in a little "dueling fireworks." Watched the North Canton fireworks from neighbors porch. Trees are
Interesting past couple of days. Yesterday morning opened the door from the house to the garage and pushed the button to open the overhead door and heard an EXPLOSION followed by what sounded like breaking glass. The tremendous noise was the coil spring breaking into two pieces.. Fortunately, no broken glass as replacing the spring was expensive enough. I think what I thought was breaking glass was just the lift cables coming loose. Today I attempted to replace the O2 sensor in the catalytic convertor
It's CANADA DAY .....
Ah, that explains today's sunshine girl photos! Is that considered proper use of a Canadian flag? No, I'm not posting a link, google is your friend. lol I'm still here, just haven't had anything to post. Maybe have something to say after I catch up on the rest of this new "POT."
Wes, that railing and stairs looked real familiar. Thought maybe someone did some photoshopping. LOL. My deck project last summer. And I understand about the deck screws AND pilot holes.
I guess it's how Ohioians do it! After a few decks, you learn not to cover the top of the spindles with a board unless you like spending the summer removing wasp nests...
The wasps build their nests under the overhang of the main deck here. Have to clean them out once/twice a year. LAZ57 - How did you make out regarding the lumber you were going to get? Just heard the horn on the Cuyahoga Valley Railroad tourist train. Seems like the train is running
Chief - As tempting as your offer is,I have never built anything with a roof, so I think I better pass. Brutus - Just want to warn you, at my age I work really, really, slow. I also want to say that I wish your wife a speedy recovery.
It is been confirmed that Robert Glen Uhl, owner of Glen's Train Shop in Akron passed away on June 9, 2009. Robert was a very friendly person and pleasure to deal with. Glen's Train Shop was a very unique place. Trains stacked everywhere and it was somewhat difficult to move around the store. However, if you asked Robert about a specific item, he usually could go right to it. He will be missed.
The only engine I can help with is this one. 6-18050 Steam PRR 4-6-2 Pacific/Tender #2055 I think it was from 1996.
Jon's comment made me think of a question about cameras. Is there a digital SLR being made with the swivel viewing screen?
Buckeye, Take a look at the Canon S5IS http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=144&modelid=15207 I have the Canon S3 6.0 MP version. Best camera for the money on the market. IMHO The swivel viewing screen is great for low level shots where you can't get your eye to the viewfinder
Buckeye, Wasn't aware that you already had a Canon S2IS camera. I am frequently amazed at the great pictures I get with my S3IS. My previous digital camera was a MINOLTA (not Konica-Minolta) S404. While it took good pictures, the Canon is so much better it is scary. After sinking untold dollars into Minolta 35MM bodies (including a HTSI) I was really unimpressed with the S404. It ate batteries (I used rechargable NIMH AA's) like candy. And was very tempermental about battery changes. Last
