Getting ready to head out for the morning, shorts and sunglasses ready! Sharyl finishes up after lunch and it will be nice to have her company. I'm going to Balboa Park after an iHop breakfast. As far as shaking and baking that can wait until Sunday Good to chat with you Frank last night, sure looking forward to the museum and meeting Doug.
Doug-- We had our jackets and jeans on, great two hour tour, the Navy ships just amazed me. I got your PM. I think I could get used to SD. See you Saturday. Dennis-- Median price of homes on Coronado $1.5 million ...................
I think I like this southern CA weather Holy Cow! Inland high of 72 today so I already have my shorts on and I'm heading for the beach for a L O N G walk. Doug--I think we are headed for the Zoo and Museum on Friday, Don--I doubt that we will be headed north, just not enough time. The only negative about the trip--flying. All on time but talk about crowded, I hate it. I fly about twice a year and although it's a quick way to get someplace it's absolutely misery.
Doug-- Sharyl should be finished by 1:00 PM tomorrow so perhaps we should do the harbor tour/cruise tomorrow afternoon and leave the zoo for Friday and the museum Sat. morning. Really enjoyed the USS Midway today for about 3 hours, well worth the time and very reasonable with great Docent's to talk with. I looked at the crews sleeping quarters ....... uhh, no thanks. What a great old air craft carrier, I'm glad they have her so we can see how our hero's defended us. I cannot imagine landing
Ray-- I too wish we had more time here, perhaps in 6 months the boss will need to come back again (she does come out here twice a year) and at that point I can take off and head your direction and also hook up with Don. It's good to have something to look forward to. 8ntruck-- You are right about the full throttle when the hook grabs the cable, that was explained clearly today. They did that in case they missed the cable and they could take right off again. When they hit the deck they are going
What a weekend! Number 2 son is now married and everything went great, had family from both coast's fly in (EVEN nort caroliner) and we just had a fantastic time. We had a hospitality suite next to our room and we just had a wonderful time visiting with everyone before and after the wedding. We went up to MPLS on Thursday and I'm glad we did, we had everything set up so we could just relax and enjoy everyone when they arrived. We got home last night tired and happy, I've been busy this
You woke up this morning safe and warm thanks to our Veterans. All gave some -- some gave all.
Buckeye-- The rumor mill says that Stanzi had ankle surgery today, ugh. If that's true I'm very glad that I'll be busy at our youngest son's wedding instead of watching the funeral on TV. However, I will be cheering for the tuba player Not many on the forum will understand that last comment.
Kurt -- I'm not exactly sure but I think so. I just went and looked and there are no company markings at all, Sharyl will probably have the answer and I'll let you know ASAP. Have you been riding? Since last Tuesday I've probably ridden a little over 400 miles and only once did I get about 2 minutes of light sprinkles. I was out on Saturday for a deployment ceremony and just as I started home the sun was going down .... HOLY COW did it ever get cold fast!! I was glad I was only about
Dennis-- Know that your Mom has been welcomed home with loving arms. Savor those wonderful memories. Jon & Sharyl
