Okay, I've been away for a while but while surfing today I found "the Lionel Corporation". A joint venture between Lionel and MTH. Is this really true? What's next dogs playing with cats? Someone please enlighten me as to what's going on. Are all the lawsuit hostilities gone? What ever became of the suit. Is it finally over? Mike Sacco
I love these Photos Bob!!!. Is it me or this packaging just awesome. Why can't they just pack everything that way? It's so much cooler and it's the kind of thing that Lionel owns. So many people opened up their sets that way years back. Mike S.
I've heard of something like this. There's a guy from California, I think, on OGR forum that has a really big floor/carpet layout. He invites people in the area to bring engines and rolling stock for a big run'em party. I believe he calls it something like, "Run what you Brung". Search OGR and you should find his posts about it. Sound like it could be a blast. Mike S.
Well, I've been away for a while and have come back to find a new forum look (doesn't seem to load fast on my computer, but maybe it's just a today problem). Anyway, I saw this thread and had to check it out. Glad to see that this discussion has remained civil. It had all the earmarks of a brand vs. brand explosion on it. That's why I like it here! Mike S.
Mine has to do with Madison Hardware and maybe it's more of a regret. Early 80's I was in art school (SVA) and Madison was only a block away. I went in there only once with my Dad's 2056 to see if they could get it running. It wasn't until years later that I got it running myself and got into Postwar trains. Thinking back they must have still had some wonderful stuff still new in boxes. GG1, Berks, F3s and the like. I just didn't think to go back in there again. Mike S.
Please no tmcc, not even upgradeable. Keep it open frame with a mech eunit....please. Mike S.
i run a 2056 a lot. a real nice engine with a surpring amount of pulling power. you won't be disappointed! mike s.
I have also used CA glue successfully on loose drivers.
Let's not forget about the magic of editing. We don't know how many attempts were made before putting that clip in the "can". I would bet more than just a few. Jon is right. Cab 1 makes this much easier. But it doesn't have to be in command. I do it in conventional with my PWC and remote cab-1 Mike S.
