Morning all! Summer formally arrived here. High 90's today and 100 predicted for tomorrow. Getting ready to leave at the end of this week for annual 4th o' July trip to Tennessee. Friends, lot's o' kids, beer, BBQ, water sports, and plain o' summer fun. The Chief's car is at a wopping 99 cents. A bit pricy for Rosyville. Chief - glad to hear FIL is better. Jim - continued prayers for your wife. Have a great day all!
Evening all and Happy Fathers Day! I spent the day lounging, watching races (IRL and NASCAR). Then we went to my favorite fish restaurant for dinner. Also had the thrill of taking my 15 year old and his learners permit for a little run on the freeway on the way back from dinner. Please note that even doing this on a Sun afternoon in Dallas traffic is kind of like spending a week stuck on the worlds largest roller coaster. The good news is he is pretty good at driving and I think he will handle this
Morning all! Another hot one today. Partly sunny. Our train club will be working a 4x8 portable layout for the Museum of American RR Kigs Fest on Saturday. This is a fun event. They also run a small steam caliope and have a rack of steam loco whistles that they let the kids blow. They use an old passenger diesel loco steam generator to make the steam. Looks like it will be nice and HOT for the event. Wes and Greg - nice job on the decks and yes screws are better - particularly if you need to replace

Boat trailer wheel hub seals throwing grease. Hauled it over to the dealer - looks like they will all have to be replaced. Still in warranty so no cost except for hauling the thing across town. Something to be said for us old guys lurking in the back! Went to TCA local meeting today for the N Texas Chapter of the Lone Star Division. Held at a members house about 40 miles south of Dallas. Big layout in the attic of his garage/barn. Hot here today - but some breeze. 90's for the next week. Have a great evening all
Evening all! Had about 6 inches of rain here this past week - so the yard is watered. Hot and humid (mid 90's today). Daughter's boyfriend who had been mowing our yard each week is gone to Chicago to be with his father the next 6 months (he is out of HS also) so I have lost my lawn help. Did the lawn this morning and it was hot - ouch. Getting ready for vacation to TN the week of the 4th. Got a hub on the boat trailer throwing grease so got to get that fixed. It's in warranty so just

Afternoon all! Well it is finally over. The last guests have departed and the helium is waning in the balloons. My daughter graduated HS last night, walked the stage, got the diploma, and is ready to go to nursing college in the fall. She has a summer job secured and all is well. Get to do this again in 3 years with the youngest. That is about how long it will take me to recover from the past week. Forgot to mention yesterday was also the daughters 18th B-Day - so we got the double wammy. Hope everyone

Morning all! Beautiful day here. Both kids completed school yesterday, but band camp started for my son. Band camp runs through end of next week. Chief - glad you enjoyed your surprise yesterday. Buckeye - congrats on the new addition! Hope everyone has a great day!
