thanks , i guess i'll have to at least try to visit the new store . i'll take a thick paperback for the ride there and i'm sure i'll have plenty of reading material for the trip back . (Georges is the only place i know that stocks Narrow Guage and Shortline Gazette so i always grab a couple of issues when i'm there) ernie
George's Trains in Toronto is closing their Mt. Pleasant Ave. location and moving to their other store in Markham . they've been on Mt. Pleasant since 1962 when George bought the store from the previous owner and changed the name from Bob's Toy Trains some people might say that they're not moving far , but it's currently a 45 minute public transit ride to the store , and after they move it will be at least an hour and a half , possibly longer . i doubt i'll visit often the
i'm just guessing , but wouldn't the railroad prefer to have the industries on the switchback rather than the enginhouse ? in other words instead of an upper-left to lower-right , a upper-right to lower-left switchback . ernie
my mind boggles at spending $700,000 on a layout . or $2.7 million . or having half a basketball court to build it in . and why would it matter if it was done in time for his daughter's wedding ? is she a model railroader too ? were they having the reception in the layout room ? and what did the guy do with the other half of the basketball court ? there are too many unanswered questions in this story ernie
i really really don't want to start an arguement or make any judgement on your values . and i respect the fact that you're so protective of your children . but really , there's more sexual inuendo in a Disney movie or Bugs Bunny cartoon than in that ad . i'll agree it's not a very good opener for the ad , but because it's just a cheap line and adds no info to the ad , not because it's offensive . good for you for standing up for your beliefs ernie

[/quote] come on , even in 1984 that wasn't true and it's very far from true today . there aren't as many programs as there are for windows , and there are some programs that don't exist at all on the mac . i don't know anyone who uses more than 2 word processing programs , and there are at least 20 for the
i looked at a couple of online used book sellers . there are copies available starting at $150 and going to at least double that good luck with your search ernie
