Hey Guys, Neat project! Looking forward to seeing it ready to run. What sort of freight is allotted for the shortline? Later eh...Brian.
Hey again, Thanks for the info. Think I'll take mine in CP livery. Problem is my layout has some 6' curves. A bit tight perhaps??? Even if it will make the curve I think it would look rather silly doing so. Just my opinion. For now I'll settle for using Marty's pic as wallpaper. Later eh...Brian.
Hi everyone, Been a very busy summer so it has been a while since I have been able to post. I was going through the latest issue of GR and saw Marty's article on the Aristo E8. I saw one of these locos first hand at Art Knapp while in BC this spring. They are absolutely huge! I just wanted to say that I thought Marty did an excellent job of making an easy looking conversion. As we say in the hotrod world...."anybody can restore a car...it takes a real man to cut one up!" I say "easy
Hi Sean, Welcome to the forum! Mixing and matching has it's issues. One thing I would not recommend is mixing diesels from different manufacturers. When a certain amount of voltage is applied to the track, locos will not always run at the same speed. More accurately...they won't run at the same speed. Some are close, but in most cases the two will end up fighting each other. This will result in premature wear or failure of a unit. "Lashups" of two or more diesels are best done with
Hey Kevin, Well done! Enjoyable and easy to watch. I do camera work for our church service which is televised. I can totally appreciate what goes into making a video. Take us for another tour one day soon! Later eh...Brian.
Hi from the 1/3 that could not make it out... : ) Well done for such a young railroad! 34 people is awesome. The more we promote...the more we grow. Thanks for sharing the pics. Later eh...Brian.
Hey Rene, Sure wish I was going. No time off for that this year. Every year I keep saying "next year" so sooner or later it's got to happen! Have a good time! Later eh...Brian.
Way too funny. Everywhere I go I tell people "If you can't have fun....don't bother." We have two dogs here now. I won't let them in my layout since scattered stones and messed up ballast are such a pain. However, a wild rabbit keeps trying to nest in my plants. Get I'm!!! Later eh...Brian.
Hey Vic, As usual...another cool project from Smoggy L.A. ! I love seeing the pics of course. Hand laid track...I'm impressed...haven't tried that one myself. A layout that size would be a cool display no matter where you set up. Keep it up pal. Later eh...Brian.
Hey there, I was thinking about this myself a short while back. I'm sure he will surface or someone will fill us in. Later eh...Brian.
