I am a locomotive engineer in semi retirement! I started as a conductor and boomed about teh BNSF system. I was qualified on all lines out of Galesburg and all the way to KC on the Marceline Sub.If you look at the lines I have been on I have been a Santa Fe conductor, a Q conductor and brakeman Plus a Q hostler..I was a C&S fireman and qualified as a C&S Mudduck ( I dont know why they call engineers mudducks)I went to the IC&E and can be considered a Milwaukee engineer and a Rock engineer.I love my job, I love the people I have met in the course of my work.
If I ever get going on it I want a layout again someday.But as for now I just collect old railroad stuff. I love the pulp magazines from the early teens and up to the late 30's.
