Big Smile [:D] DCC Question

Goodmorning Railfans. Got a question? I have a Marklin train set and I am wondering if the Marklin DCC decoder is/will interface/comptable with the American made DCC systems. Or, do I have to purchase Marklin's DCC system. All my other rail stock is US HO, including engines etc. I hope I'm making sence. The Marklin expertise is very limited in my area. Would appreciate any input anyone might have. Have a great day railroading.[8D]

From what I understand from others, the Marklin system will not interface with other DCC systems.

Marklin has two different digital protocols. The early system used Motorola protocols and the latest system uses mfx protocols. The Motorola decoders will work with the mfx system but neither decoders are compatible with the N.M.R.A. digital protocol.

There is a controler on the market the supports multiple protocols, including the N.M.R.A., called Intellibox.
I don't know much about it other than it exist.

We couldn't even give away a Marklin DCC system that was among some railroad items donated to our HO scale club because it is too proprietary and is not complliant with the U.S. NMRA DCC Standards. Marklin decoders work only with the Marklin DCC system.
