Re: Weekend Photo Fun 11/6 - 11/9
Hello Thanks Jim this is a kit by Evergreen hill design. The roofing came with it. They showed it mounted to card stock. I thought it would look better mounted on the rafters. I have tried to make my own roofing with tin foil and a fine tooth comb it looks ok but not as good as this stuff from the kit. Have a good weekend Frank

Robby,
Those are really great photos. Digital? How did you decide how long to expose it?

Another great weekend of photos!
Here's my contribution, an M-75 Rio Grande 4-8-2 (fresh out of the shops) easing a freight down the east side of Yuba Summit. The big Rio Grande articulateds got all of the glory, but it was the 40 or so 4-8-2's of the 1500 and 1600 class that were the real 'workhorses'. The loco is an extensively re-worked Custom Brass import.

No I'm not deliberately trying to lower the modeling standards exhibited so far. This is just Phase I of a special project that I am currently engaged in. It's a cardboard mock-up of the old DRI&NW depot in Moline, IL. I have a specific deadline for the completion of this project, next Sunday afternoon. Hopefully next weekend I'll have some pictures of the finished project to post. I promise you they will be ... unusual.

Another small step on the todo backlog this week. An Athearn panel truck with home made decals and a driver figure added

I was so happy to find that panel truck at my LHS one day. Today's vans ain't got the same soul.

My own home-made decals, for Leo DaVinci and Sons, Painters.

Re: Weekend Photo Fun 11/6 - 11/9
I did some paint work today on my GP20:
Painted the fan blades with Testor's Silver chrome:

The step edges and handrails were painted white. The class lights and MU hose ends were painted with the same silver as the fans:

Also painted the crew in the unit, although it's hard to tell:

My GP9 will recieve the same treatment soon.

Re: Weekend Photo Fun 11/6 - 11/9
Nice, nice, nice......! I do love seeing everyones work here every weekend. I have been doing some tearing out and trying to figure out how to save my old code 70 hand laid stub end turnouts (to be used for the Civil Engineering AP Award I hope someday....). Not much of that is really photogenic, so. I did have a package of decals arrive yesterday and I got right to work finishing up the Tichy Flat Car kits I started a week or so ago. They still have to be weathered and a suitable load must be found, but for the moment, here they are:

Packer, dude... resize those images! Knock them down to 800... It took a month to download them, and I'm on DSL! Voof! Nice detail, though... Lee
