Mornin' boys.  Frosty here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  S'posed to jump up to mid-50's by noon, so going sailing.   Might be my last launch of the year.

Morning all.  LAZ, did you slip down south?  Pam just came in and said she heard a shot down at the lease.  She could not tell if it was the lease or the narrow band of woods next to it.  A few hunt that narrow band but not too often as I have hunters in my lease [Fred is the main one, preacher and his son somtimes].  Got to go start a 5K race for the Rolesville Fall Festival.  Visit awhile.  Then go meet Frankie at the Fairgrounds for a big train show [not our TCA and mainly HO].  Finally hit the low 30's here.  Warming tough with bright sun.  Have a good one.

Chief - Remember to pace yourself, easy on the hydrating, and stretch pretty good before.  Hope you win! Good luck!

Was a fairly quiet day w/ a lot of pointing and some system tests. Watched part of a video last night of a steam special in Ohio in 2002. A 4-8-4 and a 4-6-2. Some really good shots and some good stack talk. First observer will be on in half an hour.

Dennis - so sorry to hear the news. Prayers for you and the family.

Brutus - belated Happy Birthday!

Jim - if you are interested in a '93 I could ask my brother. We'd have to get it to you but it could be a fun trip in the summer.

Off to find breakfast before the fun begins.

Bob

Aloha from a beautiful 70+ degree morning in Crystal Lake. Just a super-quick drop-in between errands. Sealing deck, choir practice for the youngest, flu shots, lunch with pastor, football HS playoff ... Whew!

Dennis, praying for you!

Happy Birthday to Brutus!!!

Mornin' all!

Well, I finally got my viaduct update thread up - I've been working on it piecemeal for a couple of days.  I really wish I was farther along with it, but the lack of an indoor work area really hinders me.  I need to add a couple of things to it, like a picture of the bridges I plan to use, etc.

Looks like I picked up a cold at work - terrific.  We have a new guy in our group who sits behind me who had one, so I think I got it from him.  We've also got H1N1 floating around the building - apparently a good part of our QA department has been out with it. Part of the problem is that our company doesn't have dedicated sick days - we have a PTO bank instead against which our sick, personal and vacation days are charged.  So people won't take sick days if they're sick.  A couple of us have been talking to HR about changing that policy: hopefully the fact that this flu virus is going through the company will make them act.

Wow, I haven't seen a Cobra II in a long, long time.  One of my brother's best friends had a white one when he was in HS - that was really cool back then.  I hear you about getting that last cruise in - I didn't have to take my kids to school yesterday, so I got my '98 Camaro SS out of the garage and cruised into work with it.  Unfotunately it was a little too cold to pop the T-Tops, but it was still highly enjoyable.  Could be the last time this year - that baby is in desperate need of new shoes.  I'm still running the original Eagle F1's, and they have almost 12 years and 41K miles on them.  Anyway, that's a gorgeous looking car - you've kept it in great shape.

Hot ride!  Cool!  Great shot on that deer too!

Thanks guys for all the birthday wishes - today I am 46 years old!  Very often, I think I was 16 just the other day - what the heck happened!

Dennis, so sorry to read your news, prayers for your family at this time of loss.  God bless you all.

No chat last night, sorry - had company over at the house until almost 10 o'clock.  Tonight, we're going out to eat and then home for cake.  But first, I get to go pick up my new glasses.  I'll take a pic later of the cake my wife got me, very funny!

TTFN!

PS - thanks for driving the Tardis for the guys last night SJ!  I found the keys on the counter this morning.  I'll try and make it tonight, but if not, RT can drive - I think he's past due for a run   Don - I'll use the wayback circuit and catch up the PARTY!  You'll never know the diff!

Bob,

If your brother is looking to sell, I would be interested. I'd rather see him fix it and enjoy it though. I really want an 89-92, and I found a gorgeous 92LX locally last night. Unfortunately, I can't afford the reasonable $2695 price tag at the moment. That's what I get for buying trains all summer.

Re: COFFEE POT #13 [November], for all to take a drink and chat. Welcome all posters. 4 yrs old and still going.

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps near 70 (warmer than all of October here, go figure).  First of all, Brutus, a very Happy Birthday wish for you, and may you have many more rides on the Tardis.  I can definitely drive tonight, and Don's neighbor told me she would do  a special show just for you :-)   Secondly, Dennis, a special prayer for you, your mom and your family.  Godspeed to you on your trip.  Very good article in the lastest Trains about the KCS Christmas train.  Warms your heart.

Last night I went to the YMCA for weights, treadmill and soccer drills.  Surprisingly busy for a Friday night.  Today I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast.  I mulched the yard again today and did some more in the barn.  Tired.  Watched "Sister Act" with the "saucy wench".  For those of us who are Catholics on the forum, that is the way Mass should be done :-)  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana
