Morning all. Back from Court with Grady [neighbor]. Got him a Public Defender. Judge says if found guity, you have to pay Public Defender. How do you do that with no income???? Ended up helping lady who is a wittness of a theft at Dollar General. Guy didn't show [one of the gang at the pond] and they don't notify wittness that they can leave. One of my PD officers was the arresting officer and she got it taken care of early so lady could leave and go back to work.
Got to go finish getting up leaves. Then we will suck up Grady's leaves.
20 degrees!!!! Not here. Might have our first freeze tonight.
Sure glad Shake and Bake has to work all weekend as I have to do Mayor things all weekend. Well, maybe not Sunday.
Later.

Wrote my congressman about how retired federal employee are getting the shaft Tim Ryan,my congressman and Betty Sutton, the one next door to me,are pretty good for helping the middle class folk.In fact it was an Ohio congresswoman who got theCash for Clunkers.(Worked for Me got a new Ford Flex) We just have to remember the USA has a history of picking lousy leaders.(name your own) But WE WILL GET THROUGH IT! fifedog:
Mornin' boys. "I heard the news today, oh boy..."
Ole Timer - Ignore him. I do.
SPMAn - The HO crowd has been running command control for over 30 years, hence the cheaper costs.
Fifey, I will take your word for it but I never heard of it that far back. I used to belong to an HO club in the 1960's and dabbled in it with my klds through the 70's but everything I knew about then was conventional. To me the electronics would be about the same in HO or O but I suppose speaker sizes and things like that would be smaller to fit in HO engines. Other than that, what's the difference? Electronics are electronics. My adult son told me that some of the HO engines sold now are command ready so I guess it would be a matter of just plugging in some electronics. Just a my guess. Apparently upgrading O gauge stuff is more labor intensive than HO. If not, then we are being taken for a ride. The amount of HO trains sold must be a lot greater than O so maybe that is a factor in the cost.

Hard to believe we have better weather than down southwards. Almost 60 and sunny!
Well, one big difference is the closed-ness of our proprietary command systems vs. those in the smaller scales -- DCC is an open standard that many manufacturers can build to - I was putting DCC into N scale locos more than a decade ago.

MTH HO steam is cataloged from $449.00 to $599., thats not cheap from where I sit. If I were in HO on the store shelf is where they would sit. 2010 Vol. 1,pgs. 9 and 10.

Not much going on today. I had another potential Christmas gift fall through. I saw an ad on that popular classifieds site for an 89 Probe LX, but it has been sold already. So, I'll start calling the yards next week to see if I can find one that hasn't been wrecked. I shouldn't have passed on two of them a few years ago. The smoke unit parts for the 302 didn't get here today, so it is still in pieces. I need to replace the link coupler anyway.
