Frosty morning here in the north woods of the Empire State.  At least the sun was out for my drive to work (thanks to that pesky time change).

Even though I really didn't get to bed all that early, at least I enjoyed the "extra hour" of sleep...

40 degrees earlier this morning....Not bad, with light clouds and some sun.  To be 58 by afternoon and I intend to take advantage of that to do yard work.....Leaves, etc.....{The tractor will do it}.  Looks like a generally calm week weather wise.

Wow.....Thanksgiving sneaking up on us already.

The shreader is being worked pretty hard behind me in here this morning, as Jean is catching up on getting rid of stuff that accumulates.

Well, I made it back, all in one piece, albeit, a very tired, and achy piece.  Had to do a lot of standing, which I can't seem to do too much of anymore, as my hips start to ache very much.  

For supper tonight, there is:

1.  Leftover roast, taters, carrots, etc. from yesterday and

2.  Sloppy joes w/fried and garden salad

I did make a mistake this morning on my appointment calendar.  So I will be in here tomorrow.  It is next Monday that I will not be in here around lunch time.  Also, next Friday, the 13th, I won't be in until around mid afternoon.

It shaped up to be a pretty good day here, with plenty of sunshine, with a very light breeze blowing.    Everyone enjoy the rest of the afternoon and evening and you all take care.

Got a meeting after work.  In fact, I've got a bunch of meetings this week... Sheesh!

Quentin;  ~~~ I would guess the blade on the lawn motor is still sharp. So would now be a good time to drop the deck pan and hook up the auger / snow blower to practiceon the leftover leaves ??? LOL  Of all things , we are having a heat spell ( temps in the day @ 90deg.)  . Maby Willy2 could send us a low pressure spell for a few weeks.            Stay warm  & dry.   Respectfully, Cannonball

Good Tuesday morning, everyone.  Cannonball, good to see you made it in for a few last night!  Hope you and Shirl are both well.

Our high yesterday was 65, and we're to get that temp today.  It's 49 degrees currently here in Louisville.  Supposed to be another beautiful day.  

Just across the river from us, in Clarksville, IN, they had a new Krispy Kreme dougnut shop open at 5 a.m. this morning.  The first new Krispy Kreme to open in 40 some odd years.  The first person in the door this morning, got free doughnuts for a year (and no, it wasn't me).  

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are ready to go, and there's plenty of hot water for our hot tea drinkers.  

Regular breakfast menu is on the warmer bar, along with Mookie's bagels and Larry's bear claws, and whomever else wants bagels and/or bear claws.

I hope you all have a very good morning, and enjoy the day ahead.  I'll see you all a little bit later.

Crispy Cremes are OK, but I don't think I could live with a constant diet of their signature donut.  Daughter used to relate stories of the kids from her college in VA heading down to the local CC (now closed) when the "fresh" sign was on...

Cool this AM after a bit of rain overnight.  Looks to be a decent day.

Whatever your political persuasion, get out and vote today.  (And that's as political as this poster is going to get.)  I forgot to get up early this AM and vote, so I'll do it after work - and maybe pick up a roast beef dinner from the church, too.

well we had to take a slight detour but we made it to our polling location.We vote at the countys emergency management office so no bake or dinner sales there.Matt also made it to the bus on time.Cool but sunny day here in nw ohio.Going to get a nap then its more chores this afternoon.Cw thanks for breakfast.

We don't vote here today, but we should have a state holiday after I read that Warren Buffett bought BNSF.  What a shock along with my coffee.  I think I am smiling, but tenatively.  Now - will he build a big building next to the UP building in Omaha? 

Maybe he will want to open a Lincoln office.....???? 

When I was little, my family lived not too far from Warren Buffett. In fact, he was close enough that we could go by his house when I went trick-or-treating. His porch light was never on...

Cloudy and 30 degrees to start off the day in Omaha. We're headed for a high temperature in the mid 50s. By Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, we can expect mid to upper 60s.

Don't even want to think of the snowy Winter Cannonball.....But coincidently, yesterday I did a really concentrated mowing, meaning I worked on cutting grass and working on leaves.  Overlapping by at least half on some areas, and some other tricks, we really got the green showing thru again 100%.  By the looks of it, getting on the lawn at least once a week and doing as described above, we're winning the battle over the wind and neighbor's leaves....I don't have any, they're all evergreens.  Really looks nice in our bright sunshiny morning being nice and deep green.   And.....I doubt if I will have to bag one bag of leaves this season....!  Being retired and more time to do stuff like this, one becomes a bit smarter in efficiency.   Finely ground up leaves decaying on the lawn adds nutrients too.  Plus the 4 applications of fert. seasonally, it makes a nice lawn if one gets a decent amount of rain.

PS:  Tractor is put away at the end of mowing season in little barn out back, and it doesn't fight with Winter at all.  By the way, it is a mulching type mower that allows me to do as I mentioned above.  Well worth it.

Quentin;  It is a pleasant event when someone has something that works as it should ( advertised) .  Quality is disappearing ,it seems quantity is the rule.I can picture your shiny green lawn minus evil weeds in my minds eye.

Quentin, I'm with you on mulching grass and leaves. I haven't bagged grass in so many years that I have forgotten when I last emptied a bag. And, I haven't raked leaves, except to get them away from a fence so I can grind them up. Just think of theplastic bags we don't send to the landfill! Last Saturday, I made the first run with the leaf grinding--the linden had lost almost all its leaves, and the maple had a lost some of its while most were still green. This morning, almost all of the remaining maple leaves have turned, but few have fallen--and the *** willows are still green.

It's nice to have the sun come up properly again--though it does shine into Ricki's face if she is sitting in the living room, so I don't open the curtains early in the morning. Has anybody ever seen the numbers on how much energy is saved by having the lights on an hour earlier in the morning?

Johnny, I don't think I've ever seen the numbers.  You still have to turn on your lights when you enter a room, and you can't see anything!  

For the remaining meals today, I've fixed the following:

1.  Tacos and burritos (soft and hard shell tacos, and the burritos, are any way you want them.

2.  Italian spaghetti w/meat sauce, garlic bread and garden salad.

Just after noon, and we have sunny, clear skies, with a current temp of 53, and the high is supposed to be about 56.  So, it's not going to get as "warm" as I reported this morning.  I'm pretty chilly here in the house.  Wonder if I'm trying to come down with some bothersome bug.
