Southern Boxcar Red

Greetings all,

I have some undecorated N scale Microtrains boxcars I'm getting ready to paint for the Southern Ry.  These are modern 50 foot cars.  I' saw several "reds" on the Testors/Floquil website.  Any suggestions on what brand paint matches the prototype?  Is this what they call mineral red?  Thanks for any help in advance.

Re: Southern Boxcar Red

Floquil makes a paint called "Southern Railway Freight Car Brown", it's no. 270-110175 in the Walthers catalogue or website. The website shows it currently being in stock. This is a solvent based paint, not sure if anyone makes it in acrylic / water based.
