I an no computer wiz, but this may help:
Go to START then Control Panel, then Add or Remove Programs.
It will take a minute to populate all programs... Look for HP programs, such as:
HP Extended Capabilities or HP Image Zone, etc, and let Windows remove them.
You might just have to go into File Types and locate jpeg, etc and SPECIFY what program to use to open the files. New programs typically try to anticipate that you want to use them for every feature they have..!!
If that does not help, try going to C:\ Program files \ and removing the files there, that might remove enough of the files to stop or cripple it, HOWEVER, this could also make things worse. If you are going to remove files manually, I suggest moving them to a new name rather than removing so they can be restored in the event of a problem.
Hope this helps, I have an HP printer also and it is OK.
Good Luck, Ed
