Re: Does a handheld conventional controller exist?

There isn't much to tell, just use up to 10 PM-1's on different blocks/power districts on your layout.  Use fiber pins to denote the blocks.

TR-1(Track One)  might be your main line level trackage.  TR-2 could be your uphill portion, & TR-3 the downhill portion.  At block transitions(when roller pickups bridge the fiber pins), whichever PM-1 is set to the higher voltage will "override" the lower set one instead of producing a short, which happens in the secondary windings on a multi-tap transformer if wired in this fashion.

Re: Does a handheld conventional controller exist?

What is the differance between the SC-1 and SC-2 switch controllers? Can I use a SC-1 since I only have a couple of switches that I will need to control?

Re: Does a handheld conventional controller exist?

The SC-2 has a much higher current switching capacity for use with a wider range of accessories.  Check the manuals at Lionel.com for the specifics, otherwise they are very similar operationally.
