Train simulation software

Has anyone a half reasonable explanation about how TRS2006 download centre actually works? I have got file to somewhere I think but how do I then install them? The book is absolute garbage for an explanation and the Help Desk is not much better... TIA Trevor

The download centre is horrible. That is one reason i have not upgraded to trainz 2009. Any other program lets you run the .exe file and that does everything. 10 minutes at the most to add maps, content, ect. You are looking at hours of waiting even if you download something from another site. It's almost as if Trainz has to rerender the download on their servers. I hate it.

 it's excellent. you have to get a first-class ticket to get download speed, but it works -- you go to the download page, chose 'download' for the item, and the trainz content-whatever opens, checks your id and then enters the item in the downloading box. you click 'start' and it just starts downloading.

i've downloaded around 50 MB's of stuff just this last week. it works really well.
