Chief: Great video!!

Jim: Santa Fe is just sitting rightnow . I took it to get gas and popane yesteday less than 1/2 mileandended up breaking down. it restarted after a while and made it home. I have to take it in and have it fixed but I'm scared. I heard about an ECU or something that costs over a thousand dollars to replace. if thats the poblem I'm screwed. I don't know who to trust with it.If I choose the wrong place it could rrun thousands. If itwas a 58 mg it would aleady be fixed.

OT: Thanks I need to find work fast and its just not happening

Steve...It may be a fuel pump.  Make sure the techs there are ASE certified and check with the BBB.

I had a customer that had the same problem was ok cold, but no start when hot.  If there is excessive noise coming from the fuel tank, that's probably what it is.

Waiting on the FREE LUNCH presented by one of our lenders....and I'm hungary!

Very warm now upper 80's.  have to check on the work out back.

:)

Welcome to all the new folks.  Lots of interesting stuff to read and takes a while to digest.

Chief:  Thanks for the video.  I enjoyed it.

Ken, hope your medical situation will be better now.  I thought I had problems but you are an inspiration.

Pat, we never had a farm but my folks were from farming backgrounds and we always had vegetable gardens when I was growing up.  My Dad raised chickens and rabbits too for a while.  In addition we used to catch lots of fish in the Chesapeake Bay years ago so we always had food on the table.  We canned things for the winter and later on Dad got a deep freezer to hold some of the vegetables and meat.  It does make you more self sufficient to do all those things.  Living in the city now in California, we are at the mercy of the super markets etc.  No room here for a garden and soil is poor anyway.  Some friends nearby do grow squash, tomatos and a few things like that though.

Brutus, prayers for your wife and best wishes for better health.

Ray

he stunk again

Yes, I thought

so too.  They are loading up the first few days with big name celebreties like Tom Hanks last night but what is Conan going to do when they run out of big names?  Max the drummer seems OK but I don't care for the drum being the main event in a band.  He seems to overpower everybody else and I suppose it's by design so that the spot light is on him.

Good to hear from others on the "Pot" that have a history of enjoying getting there hands dirty.

Our childhoods are similar. We raised chickens and rabbits and my dad was one of the first in our area to actually can in cans. Our fish came from farmers ponds and the Missouri River. Dad had a very large crock, maybe 50 Gal., he used to make dill pickles.

I still enjoy raising rabbits and have done so off and on all my life. There is no better liver than rabbit liver!

I've tried watching Connan and I'm struggling to like him but then I've always enjoyed Dave and his smart aleck attitude.

Max Weinberg is a fantastic drummer and his band is HOT, with that being said, the role of a drummer is that of being the time keeper along with the bass player.  Max's band, by design, will feature him 99% of the time and I do think that's what folks like.

Now let's step back a few years.  Ed Shaughnessy (Doc's drummer), IMO, was incredible with the Tonight Show Band, that band has so much talent it was unbelievable.  Here's a clip of two of the finest set players ever, enjoy.

Rich-- You will be pleased that your slurry tank car (car exchange program) went for a motorcycle ride this afternoon! We boxed up the car to be sent to Doug last night so since today is absolutely drop dead gorgeous AND the fact that I hadn't ridden in a week I decided to take the box to the far post office (7 miles) instead of the close post office (1 mile) and we did just fine :) I'll bet this is the first time that box went down the road at 75 MPH on a motorcycle, the ride was wonderful, life is good.

Afternoon All !

Crazy day here, got some thunder bumpers rolling thru intermittently. Thought the better half would have to pull me off the ceiling one time, one of those times you see the flash and hear the thunder at the same time. Worst part is little to no rain with them so kinda worrisome about dry lightning = fire.

Best part of my youth was spent on a small farm in Ky, no livestock, just a bunch of veggies and some fruit trees. Spend a lot of time working the fields using a hoe and you will quickly learn the true origins of the term "redneck" . Once a "Hillbilly" always a "Hillbilly", maybe thats why I take my shoes off as soon as walk in the door.

Been gettin' skunked on the Bay, trying to get some of the scale flats so I can get the military loads finished. The PS-4's have been going for very hi prices, , and the Weaver 50's just aren't showing up.

Evenin' boys.  Evenin' English.  Oldest princess walked across the stage last night.  Party this weekend.

Until further notice, anyone feeling compelled to finger pull should see sir james.  (He's my right hand- ERR - finger man)

Chief - Wifey loved Do-re-mi video.

A little drama on the high seas this past Saturday.  Spent 6 hours out on the bay (pretty breezy), and when I went to fire up the inboard diesel "SNAP", the YANMAR  key broke in the ignition.  No one paniced and I was able to hotwire the engine in 10 minutes...which was good, because the pretty Carnival cruise ship was bearing down on us as it left B'more.

Welcome Ken.. ..Yes, many of us have become friends over the years.  I have been on here for five years and I have met several of these guys in person and I have talked with several on the phone, too.   I have ran trains at several of their houses.  (You should see some of the locomotives and  layouts.

Don...How can someone in the business have so many computer problems?  If it was the Chief with the problems, it would make sense.

Bill T......Didn't I see you at the 2001 Rose Bowl?

Jon.....When was the last year the Cubs didn't choke?  They always choke.

Chuck....Make a note to hold back more rain from Roseyville.

Rich....It is 55 degrees in beautiful Ohio.  Cool refreshing breeze flowing through the window.

Dennis....Why do you need to spray the house? Just put grits along the perimeter of the foundation.  Critters will dare not invade your house if they need to wade through grits.

cnw1995:

Kurt, hope to mail the Carolina car to you tomorrow or Fri morn.

That means it is getting closer to OHIO!!!

Bill T....I used to go to Davis Trains and just thought it was a small piece of heaven. I talked trains with Mr. Davis several times.  Great guy!

Roy.....In the next few months your expected lifespan will be decreased due to fear.

DJ Spanky....My condolences.

Jon....Did you ever get that box out of the ditch after it fell off of your motorcycle today?

DougdaGrump....I'll stop bidding for a week and see if you have better luck.

fifedog......I would hate taking Carnival for a ride in my boat.

Wes....See you Friday to pick up the car.  Just a month until we see the "special" car from Roseyville.

Mmmmm........Chief's been very quiet.  I bet he is up to no good wherever he is tonight.

Douddagrump .... don't feel bad ... I've been getting literally THUMPED on ebay ... the prices are getting completely nutzy on anything but what I don't want .

Pat ... as far as chickens and eggs ... I can still feel that hickory switch my mom used on me chasing me up the road ... a swipe every step I ran ... OUCH ... did'nt think an old woman could run that fast .... me and my buddy got into a fight in the chicken house while I was gathering eggs and had a whole large basket full ... boke them all ... welts stayed for days ! And the pleasure back then of stepping in ....   those nice lil piles the dang chickens left when I was bare-footed .... squuuuuush .... yuck !

Fifedog ... only problem now you know how long it'll take some idiot to hotwire your boat some day ....

Good Evening

Cool and low 60s today, sure beats having snow but not June temps at all. A slow lazy day here, I did next to nothing. Our Daughter came by with the boys, we visited, granny took the boys to the school to play. I will be checking the chat line soon, never sure who might show up. Banilla is ready for the Tardis ride so Brutus fire it up...S.J.

As many of you know who have frequented this coffee pot for the last year, I have a good friend with cancer.  It started in the colon and has now spread to several other areas of his body.  Last night, he lost all movement in his arms and legs.  He cannot speak.  Hospice is working with him and the family.

Prayers are appreciated for my buddy Tom.
