Chief - Great Vireo! I swear I spotted you in the middle of all them dancers. I could tell by the veggies you were carrying.

  Ken

Brutus - I am going to try and hook up the chat today.

Don - Don't you recon the Chinese will build the Hummers and sell them back to us?

Banks - There is no better hobby (besides toy trains) than farming no matter what size the farm. We finish 2-3 feeders a year for family. We pour the corn to them the last 3 months. Just don't like grass fed beef. Raising your own feed is a good idea, saves a lot on the cost. Mother Nature controls the yields. Stay on her good side

You may barely cover expenses, but you eat well! As far as I know, we are the only two farmers on the "Pot". It's a pleasure to chat with you.

Pat

Morning everybody: Light rain and muggy here this am.  Pool is comming along. After killing alge the water turns cloudy and its constant vacuming and filter backwashing but I think I'mgetting the upper hand now. Gave Conan another chance last night, he stunk again. Hate to see that show be so bad, its like he never was on tv before, almost seems nervous and out of place. I met Max Wienberg a few times as he lives in the town I worked in and we sold him a pick up truck cap and a few years later put garage doors and openers in his house. Real nice guy, he autogaphed a promo poster for my son who was taking drum lessons at athe time. Well.... gotta go apply for a job, be back later.....Steve

Welcome to the new folks.  Ken, that is quite a story.  Yes, you to have to trust in your team.  One of the reasons they have such a stringent process for recipient selection is the mental ability to handle the after affects of transplant.  That is something that so few can ever know.  Just make sure you ALWAYS take your medicines!

Chief, that was a great video.  I am going to share it with Kim.  How much better would the world be if that was not such an unusual event?   I think we'd all be better off.

Got a MTH "Classic Toy Trains 15th Anniversary" car yesterday from Trainz.  Got the car for $14.00, which, when looking at the bay of E and at some advertisers in CTT, it was a good deal.  Speaking of deals, Chief, it was $275.  I was going by memory and that was wrong.  Anyway, if you want one, seems like a good deal.

Well, not much on the schedule today.  I will go in shortly.  Had planned on spraying the house to keep the critters away, but the sprayer needs servicing.  Will go to Home Depot and pick up a new sprayer and a spare to finish the job tonight.
God Bless,
Dennis

Morning all. It was 47 overnight - in June. Cool here again. Nice virtual ride last night with Sir J, Brutus, Wes and Charlie. I can imagine that in Union Station - there's another dance-in-a-train station vid that occured in Liverpool station - but was a commercial by T-Mobile. Not as sneaky.  Search Improv Everywhere too for some funky station videos - they're the ones who did that 'everyone freezes in Grand Central for 2 minutes' video.... Welcome Ken - glad you are hanging in there!  Pat or Banks, what's a feeder? Some sort of animal?  I always thought it was a wire to a transformer

Kurt, hope to mail the Carolina car to you tomorrow or Fri morn.

Jim, since you are down in Southern Ohio did you visit Davis Trains often. I would drive down I-71 a couple times a year to drool over their inventory. One of the great train shops, a huge disappointment when they closed up shop. Their Thanksgiving weekend celebration was always a great way to start off the Holiday Season.

Good morning all,

It is rainy in SE Indiana with temps in the 60s.  Still hope to get the soccer game in tonight.  We play in the rain unless there is thunder and/or lightning, but it does make the ball "dead".  Welcome to all the new 'pot' members!  This is a fascinating place with good people, Tardis trips, Corvair conversations and I guarantee the only forum on the face of the earth where Sarah Fisher and standard gauge trains could be mentioned in the same post :-)   Brent and SuzieQ, good luck in your efforts!!!   Prayers going out to all who need them.  Chief, sounds like a good harvest already.  Praticed soccer with the high school boys' team last night.  Concerned about numbers now as not too many were there.  Was headed for the YMCA after practice, but storm rolled in and I just went home.  Worked on bills and read some from a book I recently bought on Edward Hopper (Nighthawks).  Too much lightning last night for computer work or TV.  I had to calm down the "saucy wench" as she gets nervous when lightning gets close.   I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast this morning.  Beacon is lit for after the game.  I hope everyone has a good day.  (Two weeks until my Norwegian soccer friend gets here TWUMNSFGH).

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good Morning

Sun but still chilly. 60s again today.

Welcome Ken, I think I have covered the others. Had an omelet and toast this morning, dining car left the station in a hurry today. I had a small corner of the scale loops that needed a cleanup so I did that yesterday, it does look better after a cleaning. I am a city boy but my guess is feeders mean Hamburger, steak, roastbeef,ect...S.J.

Ken,

Steve,

Have you figured out what is wrong with youur Santa Fe yet?

Chief,

I changed my handle because I was worried that my old one made it too easy for someone to find me if my name and location got into the wrong hands.  Did you ever watch The Wonder Years? Wayne drove a beat up yellow Corvair convertible later in the series.

Ole Timer,

I got that update last night.  It freed up about 23GB on the hard drive.  I also noticed that Windows Media Player was highlighted in the program list, so they must have made some changes to it.

Morning all!

Work still has me in overload here. Cloudy, warm, and a bit rainy here - it's all good - lakes are filling up.

Doug - just 2 more days and it appears my daughter is gonna make it to graduating! Woo-hoo!

The big event is Monday night, June 8th! Gonne keep the ol' fingers crossed!

On the down side my son will be taking the test for his learners permit today. Does the term "hell on wheels" mean anything?

Have a great day all!

Good Morning.

Nice day up here in New England. 60 degrees sun is peaking through might hit 70 later today, its been cool for this time of year. Taking the Amtrak Downeaster (runs from Portland, Maine to Boston- through NH) this weekend to Boston. Its a nice ride, and fairly quick about 1 hour each way to Boston. Beats driving on Rt 95 and dealing with traffic and parking  and the cost of parking in beantown is about the same as a roudtrip ticket on the train.

Jim .... yea I don't really know what the update did yet ... will go to Microsoft and read the specs . Am a beta tester for Windows 7 and can get to the detailed reports on all their software .

Ken ... glad to have you here !

Steve ... good luck on the job buddy .... fingers are crossed here for you .

Pat .... don't forget this old past farm boy ! No not one at the present .. not my choice the wife's ... miss it bad everytime I ride by the farms in this area I kick myself for not being on the seat of an Allis Chalmers ... not almost heaven ... it is heaven . You are luckier than you think ! Our farm in maryland was the first to plant and experiment with soy beans ... way back when ... the federal boys gave us all the seeds and all we had to do was report useage and results ... they sure did make the cattle healthier and their coat/hair shine .

Banks ... great to hear the wonderful news !

Don ... think you read before how much I like my service provider ... ... they have the county commissioners in their pocket here and screw us over with lousey service and constant breakdowns . It really upset me .... upset is not the word or language I could use about losing Hummer .... ... what about our military vehicles .... ?

Brutus .. you have to keep an eye on those prescribed meds the docs give her ... I check them on web-md everytime they change mine and have had to tell the docs they conflict ... remember they had me on meds that were wrong and messed me up big time for over 7 months ! As with you all it took was a young new female doc 5 minutes to see the problem ... of course sometimes I think the VA just runs us through like cattle ... if it works fine ... if it does'nt ... just one more old vet dropping dead ... LOL .

SJ ... still praying for you buddy ... Charlie ... great to chat ...CNW ... extremely happy you stopped by ... RT ... come by more often and take some time off work ... darn it . Chief .... no use telling you to slow down ... I guess you know best ... Brent ... called BIL about that screened porch ... can't wait ... but he's in no hurry ... unless he needs something from me ... same old story ... on him ... go figger .

Sorry Ole Timer. I did forget we have chatted several times about your early days farming. I like to say "I have a good memory, It is just short".

We have found the young new female Veterinarians more knowledgeable and caring and do a much better job then the male Vets, especially the older male Vets who seem to resent the female Vets.

Mornin' all!

Not much going on - looks like my weekend just got planned - I love when that happens!  Not sure when I'm gonna get a chance to work on my viaduct project, particularly since the Maw-In-Law will be staying with us for the next two weeks.  Woohoo!
