where do i find dc motors for sale

I have a couple locos that I want to repower.  They are very space limited and only need one shaft due to the fact they will be driving only one set of trucks and will be vertical.  My search on line left me empty handed.  Where would I look for a motor that is no longer than 1 inch in body length, no more that 3/4 in in diameter and have a 2 mm shaft that is 1/2 long?  Any help would be much appreciated.

thanks

mike

Mike,

What types of locos are these?  Are they going to be pulling heavy trains, or are they just switchers?

You might try A-line or NWSL, they both have good lines of motors.

A-line's website: http://www.ppw-aline.com/

NWSL's website: http://www.nwsl.com

Good luck! Smile [:)]

This motor here should be just about right for what you want: http://cgi.ebay.com/Parts-Small-12V-Motor-for-Model-Train-Mabuchi-FK-130SH_W0QQitemZ200196827779QQihZ010QQcategoryZ484QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262 I've used them in a few of my engines, and they are great little motors!Big Smile [:D] They're smooth, quiet, have low current draw, have excellent speed control, and they're strong too. I put two of them in a DD40 diesel (which weighs over 2lb.), and it's now an unstoppable runner!Big Smile [:D]

The shaft is about 10-11mm, or just shy of 1/2 inch.
