My wife is the greatest wife ever!!!
So we go to hobby lobby tonight, got our 40% off coupons, thought maybe could pick up some N-scale track, she needs a picture frame, you know, the usual, ended up going back to the clearence sale area and are looking at some atlas remote switches that are marked under $4.00 so great, then she says " oh look there is one of those G-scale train sets, and it's marked from $179.00 down to $65.00, we should get that ", so the upshot is we now own a bachmann big hauler 4-6-0 Pennsylvania with 2 passanger cars and a big oval of track, now i know little about G-scale other then compared to my N-scale stuff it is massive, but was this a good deal, i think i have read that that engine is as good one, does any one know?, and did i mention the greatest wife ever! thing?.

I don't get it, but how do the wides ALWAYS find the good deals. When my wife and I went to the train show last weekend, she found some left and right brand new Atlas switches for $7 each. Maybe its in there genes to find good deals. Since moving to PA from NC there is no Hobby Lobby here. Thats another store I miss.

Isn't it amazing how our womenfolk can cause major course changes in our modeling. I have fond memories of a lady friend who switched me from New York Central to Japanese prototype on my birthday in 1960. All it took was a brass locomotive kit that built up into a Japanese tank loco... Later that year, we formalized our relationship. Both marriage and choice of prototype are still going strong, 47+ years later. Chuck (modeling Central Japan in September, 1964)

Ain't that the truth! My wife is the reason I'm in N scale now...and the reason I'm building a layout to sit on top of our dining room table when I'd given up on having a layout.

That is great, but I am afraid I judge wives on a little different scale than it appears you do.
