Hello again, nice to see another NEAT member. Where's Yoshi; we could get all the RRs but PCRR.

Re: Teen Model Railroader Place

Welcome guys!

Bennett: Sound interesting. I like the SP too, but not in that same era. I like the 1970s-1980s.

David: I wish I had that kind of space.

Re: Teen Model Railroader Place

I wish I had more space! The layout takes up half of my bedroom and almost blocks the closet. There is just enough room for the bed and dresser with a little space to get to the door to the hallway.

Coborn35 yeah i remember when you guys had the Minnesota North Stars. Glad you have a team again. They're young but getting better. I can't talk much crap about the Wild though cause it seems they have been in the playoffs more the past few years than the Kings have =p oh well i still love my team. that's what it's all about right?

Pictures coming soon everyone....

Where you can see the wood in the first and last pictures...that's where water is going to be. A harbor. And the styrofoam peice jetting out is going to be a pier. I don't think I said before, but obviously i model HO. And I'm a big sucker for weathering rolling stock =)

All i can say is WOW!!! That is going to be a great layout! Was that BN GP40 from Atlas? I have wanted a whiteface GP40 for a while but i cant find it. BNSF97 how old are you because those weathered cars look like they were done by a professional good work! By the way what do you use to weather your cars?

Re: Teen Model Railroader Place

Yeah it is an Atlas GP40. Our hobby store had it FOREVER and I finally bought it Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg] I patched over the Burlington Northern on the cab with green electrical tape. I'm 17. Thanks for the compliments! Umm, I use some powdered....powders lol i bought them at a train show. It's just a bunch of crushed colored powders that i brush on with a paintbrush. And i spray them with dullcoate of course.

Hey BNSF, I noticed you like ice-hockey. Not only do I play it, but my favorite NHL team is the New York Islanders!

Re: Teen Model Railroader Place

Hey guys. I found out MB Klein is taking orders till they get them.... So I will get my locomotive.

It's a bit of presure... So many things are popping up that i want. Daylight passenger cars that are accurate, new GS-4s, TTT-6s, FEF-2 and 3s, the list goes on.

I gotta work on the layout... not buy engines!

Re: Teen Model Railroader Place

Hello everyone. Since this thread seems to be catching on I might as well join in.

My alias is Yoshi; I'm not willing to give my real name. I'm 15. My location is as specific as I'm willing to be unless we are planning to meet in a public place. That's all you really need to know about me personally. Ask for anymore and I'll never speak to you again out of fear that you are a stalker. That should help break the ice.

I model a fictional shortline called the Vermont And South Troy (VAST) Slogans are "Business thinks vast, business ships VAST", or "Think fast, ship VAST". The route follows the former B&M Cheshire route from Bellows Falls, VT to Winchendon, MA, from which it turns south over the Heywood line to Gardner, MA. Between Bellows Falls and Winchendon it passes through the major town of Keene, NH and the line's summit at South Troy, NH. Also included in the route is the line from Keene, NH to Bennington, NH as well as a fictional branch from Bellows Falls to Westminster Heights, VT. My current layout is 7x11 modeling the Westminster Heights branch, butI have 15x30 allocated for expansion in which to model the route between Bellows Falls and Keene, NH. The next phase of construction has already begun.

My fictional line has been merged into a fictional system called NEAT, New England & Atlantic Transportation. The group running the system, the Boston Area Rail Fans, or BARF, was spearheaded by Guilford Guy and I. We are planning a round-robin group and a physical interchange system. We are open to teen modelers across New England, with the center of membership currently in Metrowest Boston. Come check us out:

http://neatrailcorportation.googlepages.com/

Yes, we know corporation is spelled wrong, you can blame Guilford Guy. ;-).

The current membership is all HO, but other scales are definitely welcome in the round-robin. The only thing that they will be unable to participate in is the physical interchange system.

Re: Teen Model Railroader Place

Hey guys. Well I did some "Rail Fanning" on my layout. I have my full roster here, except. A P2K ATSF SD45 which will be patched to WC in the future, an Atlas Master WC GP40 3005, and an Athearn WC SW1500. (Oh wow 3 locomotives [sarcasm]). I'm hoping to get 2 SD45s IF Athearn makes a WC version. They I might get a Guy I know to paint up a Bachmann Spectrum in my favorite WC loco, 7548.

Tim: I would like to see some picture when your layout get's going. Do you have any pictures of your old layout?

Well today I heard a horn down by the depot in Iron Ridge. Nothing much. A SB train stops down there daily to switch crew. So hoping I can get another GP40 to add to my collection I head down to the depot thinking nothing much about it. But When I turn the corner into Bob's Hot Dogs Parking lot it took me my surprise. A former ATSF SD45 was sitting in front of the depot. Now this is Rare, mainly on the Rock Creek Sub it gets the GP40s, or GP7Ms. Behind it was WC 3005.

Now I couldn't go right up to the depot because that would be trespassing, but I'm hoping that WC will donate the Depot to the Historical Society in Iron Ridge. Now I tried to get the best shot I could of 3005.

Now I thought I wouldn't get 3005 so I started to pack up. But then I see the crew get into the locomotive cab. So they take off and I get one more shot of 3005. Not the best in the world but I still go her

.

So I quick Grab my camera and run over the Grade Crossing. I get a quick shot of her going across. I sure hope this is a sign that more SD45s are to come

So anyway the next week I catch 3005 doing a drop behind some industries.

Re: Teen Model Railroader Place

WCfan. Sorry but i dont have anypics of my old layout it really sucked anyway i wasnt even done nailing in all the track, you couldnt really call it a layout because only part of it was nailed down lol. Ill definetly take some pics of my new layout since I have my own digital camera now. Looks like your layouts doing good even without a ton of locos. I bought a bunch of locos and freight cars before I could even run trains..... Belive me i should have just bought a loco to test with and a few cars and build the layoutOops [oops]
