Thanks. I'm trying to stay happy... BLI just ruined my plans.

They changed the order deadline for the Blueline big boy from august 17th, to august 3rd, on august 3rd. Now I guess I can't get one... Unless walthers still will have them.

Re: Teen Model Railroader Place

This may rival Elliott's Trackside Diner...so I though I'd say hi.

My name is Kevin, currently 14 and I still have B-day money. My layout is currently 4x8 but it may be scrapped soon in favor of a 4/5x9. With the construction of a new table coming, I haven't decided whether I want to change the setting or not. I have some experience with wiring and I like watching stuff explode. I'm also on top of the most recent CN pollution project every few days. I also heard of a teen club in Vancouver that I may look in to.

This may be fun.

Re: Teen Model Railroader Place

lol, I think it more rivals Teen Railfan Place. lol. Anyway your layout will be alot bigger than mine. Even the layout I'm planning to build won't be big. If you don't count the double decks. What I really want is a long main line with ore and paper traffic, and a grade which requires helpers to get up. It's my dream to run a 3 unit consist of SD45s with sound, Sigh [sigh], me dreaming.

Kevin, go for 5x9. 22" radius don't cut it.

I looked and MB Klein is still reserving the big boys... I hope they can until I get the cash for one.

Re: Teen Model Railroader Place

My name is Matt and I model CSX through Maryland. I dont have any set era so I run anything but if its pre chessie its usually WM Big Smile [:D] . Along side that runs my own made up shortline Eastern Maryland http://www.freewebs.com/easternmaryland/ (the site needs to be updated, since then we have aquired a PRR SD40 and a few more cars Smile [:)] , and we have expanded into mainline service)   I actually have 2 layouts, both in the same room, one is a 1x11 the other a 4x8, both running off a Digitrax zephyr. To see both here is my youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/mattgin

PS Im gonna be 16 in november

Re: Teen Model Railroader Place

Now that I think about it, Its more like 4x9 with an extra 2' at one end. My room has a really irritating vertical beam that cuts into the space I can use, which is why i made the surrounding area of the pole an access hole to reach the far side (LOL) and the basement window (because my room is in the basement, also serves as the train room/landfill). I actually drew up a sketchy plan that I can scan so everyone can get a better idea of what I'm talking about.

Mark: my layout is all switching, so the 22" is unnessesary. If I have space, I'll consider it.

WCfan: instead of those SD45's, I'll go for some SD40-2's instead.

Looking to have more fun with the trains after I shove away the landfill on my desk! LOL

This is a track plan I've been looking at for while and need some help deciding. I am using Digitrax and sound. Looking JUST at the track plan, what are some possible industrys I can serve on here?

Re: Teen Model Railroader Place

Hey guys. My name's Noah and I'm 16. I model in HO Scale, and model a couple of Wisconsin Railroads. My primary interest is a regional railroad known as the Wisconsin and Southern, as can be seen in my avatar. I also model my own freelanced shortline railroad though, the Appleton, Rivermoor and Keenville (ARK), and have a couple of locomotives from the WC, BN, Wisconsin Northern, and others. I've got a 8 x 16 L shaped layout, though I don't do much with that anymore other than run it occasionally. I belong to a local model railroad club out of Madison, WI, and so I have a module that I display at local train shows with my club. I've been devoting most of my time to that lately. I also enjoy superdetailing and custom painting locomotives, so I've been doing some of that lately too. My latest project was these two Wisconsin Northern GP15s:

This should be a good compliment to the existing Teen Railfan place. That seems to be mostly prototype stuff, and this one is more for model railroaders.

Noah

Milwaukee Road: Track plan looks good. Kinda looks like Milwaukee.

Noah: You work is truely amazing.

Re: Teen Model Railroader Place

Hi guys. I thought I'd drop in again. Yesterday I got a cab ride in Narrow Gauge D&RGW K-27 464  and today I got to ride the Tourist Line's 65 Ton diesel. They are probably going to put my K5LA on it for a month or so, becuase the M3 on it needs to be rebuilt

Re: Teen Model Railroader Place

Hi guys!

My name is Brandon, I'm 17, and I model the CSX in HO scale mostly in and around Western-Central Kentucky.

Here's a picture.

The layout is far from finished. I still have the "blue desert" (to quote pcarrell) thing going on.

It's nice to see that I'm not the only teen into this stuff. I only know of two other teens in this town (Hopkinsville, KY) that like trains, and I'm good friends with both of them. I Guess it's just not a "usual" interest for a teenager.

You can see my videos and pictures at the sites listed in my sig below!

-Brandon

Max. Not giving out my last name.

North Shore Terminal and Transfer is my railroad, freelance. Other than that I model Missabe first of all, with GN coming in second.
