Where are the MR Anniversary Boxcars?

  For those in the Modesto area; spotted the 75th anniversary Model Railroader boxcar on a siding under the Briggsmore/Carpenter/HWY 99 overpass today. Looks pretty sharp, blue Wisconsin & Southern paint.

I think I saw it from the hiway, then I headed down an old gravel road and almost caught it. This is the best shot I could get. I almost wrecked my truck.

WSOR 503175 was in the CSX Cumberland Md. car shop tonight March 25th on second shift.

It was outshopped for a door camel being off the track. It was repaired by myself and another brother carman, and sent on it's way. Headed to York Pa with a load of canned vegetables.

We've just received word from the Wisconsin & Southern RR that WSOR 503175, the MR 75th anniversary boxcar, was loaded at the Seneca Foods warehouse in Cambria, Wis., and is now on its way to a Seneca plant in Geneva, N.Y.

WSOR 503119 Athearn 60th Annv. Boxcar spotted.

I spotted the WSOR 503119, Athearn 60th Anniversary boxcar, on a CSX northbound freight waiting on the main at Alice siding for two southbounds here in Vincennes IN. This was on 1/ 23/09 at 16:00

there is a car sitting in iron ridge that says celebrating 60 years but there was a tank car parked in front of the logo i would assume was a model railroader? i dont know. if anyone could tell me what it was i would really appreciate it. thank you much for any info

WSOR 503175 - 75th Anniversary - On CSS in Chicago 1-9-09

WSOR 503175 arrived on the Chicago South Shore & South Bend today off the BRC waybilled from Didion Milling - Cambria, WI on the WSOR to Chicago, IL...loaded with CORN MEAL.

The car is in the CSS Burnham Yard just west of the Indiana-Illinois state line at 3:00 PM CST 1/9/09. It is headed into the Port of Chicago - Lake Calumet sometime in the next week or so. Burnham Yard is visible from the public road along Brainard Avenue.

75th Anniversary Car Sighting

"75th Anniversary Car" was spotted with the "GOD BLESS AMERICA" car in Ackerville, WI on train from Horicon to Milwaukee, WI. NO Graffitti on "75th Anniversary car" but the "GOD BLESS AMERICA" had Graffitti. The train had 3804, 4001, 4004 as power and had half dozen or more salom Potash cars in the train. Watch for the cars going EAST. Happy Thanksgiving !

This is the photo that trains.com has or had on their news page. I did not take this picture. (There are Milwaukee area railfans who regularly scope out the paint shop in Horicon WI just so they can be the first to get some of the stuff that WSOR paints for itself or other railroads. That includes the UP Heritage locomotives. )

So .. has anyone seen the car?

Flexible handrail paint

Does anyone remember what type of paint was mentioned in a MR article a fews years back that worked well on those thin plastic handrails on the newer diesels? I have some Stewart PRR Alco Century 628's that need yellow on the ends of the handrails. I believe that stewart uses ABS plastic for the handrails. Polly S CNW yellow just flakes off if bumped. Any help is appreciated.

heading EB on the CSX thru Clinton Ohio on 8-20-06-some graf paint out, but
looking ok!

& please folks-will you give the "has it ever been here, has it ever been there?" posts
a REST? READ the previous posts & they will TELL YOU! it appears the car is now
out of service from what I've read.

I caught this thread a-ways into it, & it was fun to read where it was & where it went. But
"those in the know" posted where the car was likely to be, & where it went, & on which
railroads, & the "has it even been here?" posts have grown quite annoying, & I know I
echo the same sentiment from quite a few others!

10 Nov. '07 sighting of anniversary car

I was in the Kansas City area last weekend, and while driving near Lenexa I spotted the WSOR/"Model Railroader" 70th anniversary boxcar in a southbound UP freight operating on the BNSF's ex-Frisco line. Did anyone else see it that day, or further south in the days since?
