So today I was driving...

So today I was driving and almost broke my shocks at a crossing. There was construction there over 2 months ago, and they(meaning construction workers) raised the road about 3 inches. Hurts when going 40 MPHBlack Eye [B)] It has been this way the last two months. Is there any way I can contact someone to get it fixed?

Edit: Sign - With Stupid [#wstupid] I forgot the RR, it is the BNSF.

Yeah we got one of those crossings in the milwaukee area. The crossing is owned by the UP. and same thing if you hit it at 35 mph it really hurts but what really gets me is when. A car slows down and almost stops on the tracks it hurts even more. espiacally when the next car behind that car has to slam on it's brakes to avoid hitting it. but anywho the samething the railroad was working on that crossing about 2 or so years ago they had the road closed off and they replaced the ties and all that fun stuff but anywho. Last I heard the city of west allis (MILWAUKEE COUNTY) they were planning on rebuilding theat strechof 60th st from West Lincoln ave to West Beloit road and including the railroad crossing. meaning they want replace the old wooden ties and put in new state of the art concrete ties to make it a safer and a better crossing to go over at 30 or 35 mph.

To be honest, you will have better luck in dealing with your municipality than you will with the railroad - it is the municipality that maintains the surface roads.  We had a similar instance back in 2002, where the UP replaced an old asphalt crossing on Dobson Road here in Mesa with a concrete crossing.  This raised the level of the crossing about 2" higher than the surface of the road, so the UP construction crew made asphalt ramps up and over the crossing.  Unfortunately, this was not enough and if you drove over the track on Dobson at road speed, you'd come close to throwing your cars' alignment out.  Enough complaints were filed that the City of Mesa regraded and repaved Dobson Road about 100 yards from either direction of the track.  This solved the problem.

Re: So today I was driving...

The local municipality is who maintains the road crossings.  Granted the railroad maintains there part the rail and things like that, but the city or county are the ones that actually maintain the road and the approach to the crossing.
