General Discussion (Model Railroader)

Is there a sight that gives you the colors for different roads? This would be helpfull when painting my AC4400. Like info telling you what colors are in the UP paint, NS, BNSF, ect.

First, it should be easy to find out which paint was used on the prototype.  That can be found out on certain forums.....like this one.

Paint bottles usually say....UP Armour Yellow, SF Blue, CP action red, NS black...etc....

Now you will find, for example, that paint colors vary from paint mfg to mfg....example would be scalecoat CP action red and Floquil CP action red....they are noticibly different.

Now, pertaining to which colors belong on which locomotives, pictures are your friend.

Which scheme are you thinking about?

     I am painting it NS in memory of my son. I know NS didn't have any AC4400's.

I would love to paint my other OMI AC4400 this road

I also thought about this one. Even though it's not an AC4400
