It is very nice to see what people can do when they put some time and effort into it.

Good work.

Thats pretty cool.
I wonder how much those little steam engines can pull.
It would be fun to ride.

Well you can bet your sweet bippie that these engines did not come from China ... local built and designed from scratch ( ; > ) ..... Don't let the star fool you (grin)
Both the steam and the (electric due to gearing) are very powerful and our new steam engine if everything works out will be even more so and much bigger ... the boiler is 1/2 thick steel ... same as most of the big ones ... Built to operate at 800lbs pressure .. we will only be using about 150 of that. It also has two 6" burner tubes and 1.5" boiler tubes. No crown sheet = much safer too. Do have a photo of it ... will post it later on the new engine site.

I didn't think they were built in China. I just added that because I think it is an insult to American steam builders and those employees who helped build countless American made steam engines to now import Chinese steam engines into America.

I also think you hard work deserved some attention but no one in the forum seemed to post in it. So I brought it back to give it another round. It does seem to be working too. [;)]

Keep up the good work.

RE: short movies of our first trip thru our new bridge & Chinese engines

Jim ....
I appreciate your words of encouragement ....
I realized no one really thought a local hardware store small guage like ours was really from anywhere but Millville where we live ... but thought yours was a joke because of the star on the front ..
As per the real Chinese engines being brought in I do see where you are coming from and have only the utmost respect for you and your position ... but .... I think any steam engine that can get the attention of our youth and get them hooked on steam is a good thing .... The more steam engines that are available to take youngsters on a ride will generate the interest necessary for future generations to get hooked on steam and will keep alive the history and memory of our own forefathers that made America what it is today! ... This intrerest will also generate the funds to restore even more of our own from museums and private historic groups. Those that ride the Chinese engines will also ride our engines ... I just look at the glass half full instead of looking at it half empty.

I am only too glad to help. [:)] I bet tons of forum members would love to visit and ride on it. Maybe one of these days you could host an open house.

Cool Site and Bridge. How much wood did it take to do it and also will it ever be opened to the Public?

Grand Scale Steamer ;
Glad to see the maximum effort on your engine . Many trips to the hardware store sure paid off , plus band aids and soothing salve. Cannonball.

I have run MANY locomotives in 7 1/2 inch gauge and even got to run one of the locos at the Wabash Frisco & Pacific, but never anything like that. Great job show all the "little ones" how the nation moved back in the day.

The bridge is all steel except for the 2" x 12" x 16' planks on top ... 280' of them.

Our railroad will never be open to the public per say ... but any train nuts are always welcome to just stop by. we also do a cancer society fund raiser about every 3 years. Host antique car & tractor goups, train groups, etc. Never a charge.
