Not going to repaint my new mini van in Santa Fe colors.  Some dumb guy driving a truck in BN colors would probably ram me.

Bob

lol, but who are you calling dumb? I happen to be driving a green expedition at the moment. I could get some black paint for the top.

Many years ago a friend of ours had a 1976 Plymouth Volare station wagon that was BN Green---and it did have a Black roof!!----he had the bottom skid plated so that he could barnstorm along back roads and not puncture anything---

No you are not nuts.  But if you add a Leslie five tone horn on the roof and a bell on the front bumper you definitely are.

Re: Not sure if I'm crazy...

something to consider here...

In the USA there ara aproximatly 300,000,000 + people. A demografic I got from a mnagazine sales dept a while ago said there are about 300,000 railroad interested people in the States. Tha equates out to  .1% of the people will know what the symbolism of that paint job will be. which means you will probably have to explain it to the other 99.9% of the people. I am guessing that you are not from the states but, I figure the demografics are roughly the same for other countries as well.

That might be a bit tricky - last time I checked, the Honda Accord wasn't amphibious...

300,000 / 300,000,000 is 0.1%

The car in question is a 1990 Honda Accord.  I would be crazy to go ahead and do it, especially considering the one or two small dents in it...
Well yeah, the Santa Fe would never run a war bonnet with dents in it.  It would have gone back to the shop ASAP.

I think it would look much better on a Suburban, Land Rover, Excursion or similar large vehicle shaped more like a locomotive.

When I purchased my 'forest green' Toyota X-cab, new, I took note of the resemblance (distant cousin) to one end of a GG1.  It was close enough to Brunswick green...

Sixteen years and 200,000+ miles later, it's still waiting for its keystones...

Re: Not sure if I'm crazy...

You could test the waters first by painting your car MOW gray.  Adding a 5 digit number and reporting marks along the back fender would be a nice touch.  Depending on voiced opinions, then you could move up to the full Super Chief Scheme.

Nothing derogatory intended.

Who among us has never had a brain cramp?

Just correcting the formula.

And I thought it was just that new math again!
