Modifying Rapido Passenger Cars // paint schemes

I have a set of CN Rapido passenger cars that I want to modify to GTW.  The paint schems are identical except for the lettering.  So basically all I need to do is remove the CN and replace with a GTW.  I have the correct GTW decals.  I contacted Rapido to find out if the CN was a decal that could be removed, or if they had any suggestions.  They did not.

Can anyone suggest ideas on how to remove the CN which seems to be painted on?  Any thoughts or ideas on how to maintain the paint job of these cars, but modify the railroad insignia?

Thanks, Drew

Pencil Erasers. It will take several minutes, but they should take off the lettering without damaging the paintjob underneath.

When doing this BN Patch for another member of this forum, the original CBQ number (502) was in place of where there is now the BN number and "BN." It took about 5 minutes of rubbing with an eraser but it did come off. Be careful if the eraser is worn down too far to switch to another, because you do not want the metal holder to scratch the paint job.

Dan has tried a few times to remove the CN logo with Floquil ELO, but every time he damaged the paint. On some paint schemes, ELO works fine, but for some reason on the CN grey it can be pretty destructive.

Please let us know if the eraser technique works for you. Maybe you can combine that with some touch ups using True Line Trains CN grey. It's not an exact match for our grey, but it's fairly close.

We do plan to release GT noodle coaches and parlor cars when the economy picks up.
