Phone numbers

Hi,

I’m interested in producing my own decals for the buildings, signs & billboards for my layout. I don’t want to use the decals that come with the kits, because everyone else has them. I want my layout to look unique. Apart from the names on the decals, I was wondering about the phone numbers.
And then it hit me that I’ve been listening to songs with phone numbers in the title and/or the lyrics all my life. So here are some of the phone numbers I found on the internet.

•    867-5309 by Tommy Tutone, Less Than Jake
•    236-6132 by Dave Carter and Tracy Grammar
•    244-1139 by Anjan Dutta
•    234-5678 by Gabriel Pensador
•    272-5035 by Canadian Rock Band, Toronto
•    493-1023 by Aslyn
•    606-0842 by B-52's
•    777 9311 by The Time
•    842-3089 by Etta James, The Kinks
•    853-5937 by Squeeze
•    Beechwood 4 - 5789 by Marvelettes, Carpenters  (234-5789)
•    BIGELOW 6-200 by Brenda Lee (246-200)
•    36 - 24 - 36 by AC/DC
•    Echo Valley 2-6809 by The Partridge Family (322-6809)
•    Lonesome 7-7203 by Hawkshaw Hawkins (567-7203)
•    Pennsylvania 6-5000 by Glenn Miller (736-5000)
•    634-5789 by Wilson Pickett, Bon Jovi, Trace Adkins, Ry Cooder, Sam and Dave, Tina Turner, Blues Brothers

I didn’t use 911 or 1-800 or 1-900 or the type of numbers that my 58 years can’t recall.

Feel free to add any more numbers you wish.

Blaine

Sounds like a backup dancer on almost any music video...

PEnnsylvania 6-5000 was the number Glen Miller fans could call to make reservations at the venue in New York where his band was performing.  The PEnnsylvania 2 exchange was somewhere in the vicinity of the (late, lamented) Pennsylvania Station.

Re: Phone numbers

I believe 36-24-36 is the number to call in AC/DC's "Dirty Deeds".

BR-549   Junior Samples Auto Sales

BTW, Pennsylvania 6-5000 was the number for the Waldorf Astoria, where Glenn Miller's band frequently performed

Re: Phone numbers

I remember a lot of TV shows used the first three digits of '555' because there is (was) no such combination in use.

I think there's an eight at the end, looking like 362 4368 I know for a fact there's a sylable after that last 6.

It goes "just ring 36-24-26, whoo, I lead a life of crime"

Are you sure? "eh" or "Ay", "hey", maybe "ah" I'd believe, but "whoo" doesn't feel natural when sang.
