General Discussion (Model Railroader)

 Did anyone here see the add that Athearn had in the September issue of Modelrailroader ?

Specifically the SD40-2 add?

It stated that reruns were going to be made for undec. units.

I sent a message to Athearn about it but they did not respond.

My local hobby shop has been trying to order 5 undec 81" nose units for me but it keeps telling him they are out of stock or else out of production.

Anyone here besides me think it was false advertising? 

Dunno about false advertising, it took over a year from the time I talked to Athearn at the National Train Show in Philly about making the RS3's in Reading as-delivered until they were made available. Lead time on the ads is insane, remember if you subscribe you get the magazine more than a month ahead of the cover date, so maybe they aren't going to produce the re-runs until December.

 I could not tell from your post if you wanted to Rant or was really interested in an answer. I did some searching and here is one site that says they have it in stock. In case you want a  possible source, below is one of a few I found.
