Neat little Yard

Just take a look at this yard. It is full of a bunch of EMD, GE, and Alco locomotives, maybe even a Baldwin. I know for a fact that it has:

  • 2 RS-3's, on being on the turn table
  •  5 F-Units
  • Numerous others
  • Hundreds of EMD, GE and Alco prime movers scattered around the engine house
  • A few end cab switchers
Scroll around, you'd be amazed.
(EDIT) Here is some locomotives south of the yard on a wye, look to be a few GE's

Re: Neat little Yard

Since it is in the Scranton, PA area I would think it is part of the steamtown collection. Not sure though, just a guess

Nope, This is on the Reading and Northern, and this is the Coxton Yard. It is near Tunkhannock.

Bing Maps gives you a better view.  Looks like a dead line / scrap yard with a backshop off of the old roundhouse.

Exactly... you can get a bird's eye view that looks at the scene from an angle too easier identify the locomotives...

try following this link: http://www.bing.com/maps/default.aspx?q=Tunkhannock&mkt=en-CA&FORM=BYFD#Jm1zPTEmYmI9NDEuMzYwMTU3NjA4MjU1NCU3ZS03NS43NzkwOTk0NjQ0MTY1JTdlNDEuMzM4NjM3MTAxOTMxMSU3ZS03NS44MjQ1NDY4MTM5NjQ5

It should get you to the general area, and then you can set it to a bird's eye view to have a look.

Re: Neat little Yard

Thanks for that link! Now I can clearly see a CF-7, a very large amount of U-boats, a mother lode of waycars, many different prime movers, a lot of SW's and many early SD's and Geeps, a lot of different endcabs, and some SD-45's. Most of them all are Ex-Conrail, with a few BN, SF, CN, and NS. Any other roads that you see?

Re: Neat little Yard

It looks like there is an SDP45 in there between what looks like a C-liner and an SD7/9.

Re: Neat little Yard

Vince: Good job! I was waiting on someone to find it. Now see if you can find the CF-7.
