BLI Paragon2 NYC J1e/d Hudson Video/Audio Clip

Below is a quick Video/Audio Clip of my recently acquired BLI Paragon 2 NYC J1e/d Hudson. The fit and finish is outstanding. Its also an extremely smooth runner. The audio sounds are incredible. You'll hear some "City" sounds like cars honking as she pulls out. There are so many extra audio sounds to choose from. And all this for under $200.

The audio is nice and clear from here. I like how it moves so slowly as well-- I ordered one for the club running awhile ago---got mine yesterday so I'll be looking forward to some interesting comments at the club!

Nice locomotive you got there. But, IMHO, that turbo generator spooled up a bit too fast.

Why would the conductor holler "All aboard:, only to have the locomotive pull away without the train?

I donno, probably because someone pushed "All aboard" button? You know there is no tiny real conductor sitting there, right?

That's like telling him there's no Santa Claus. Of course there's a conductor there. Where are those voices coming from anyway? My head?

Re: BLI Paragon2 NYC J1e/d Hudson Video/Audio Clip

"Help! The paranoids are after me? :-)" I'm hearing voices again and they want me to climb aboard!

But seriously folks, I've got one coming myself via UPS in 2 days. It was great to see your video clip!

Mine's short/standard tender. Can only be run in "secret" due to the Western locale of my layout.

I'm an old Joisey boy and just couldn't say no to this J1e Hudson. (I'd like to know what the "benefit" was with the PT-4 tender. Was it just longer/more capacity or something additional...? Thanks again for the video.

Sounds exactly like my Blueline PRR J1........but it shouldnt.  Same whistle, chuff and steam sounds.

Yeah, in my entirely personal opinion I don't care for the Paragon2 model of this.  Sure $199 is a great deal, but compared to the original Paragon Hudson it's the same engine, plus smoke (no thanks), lame extra sounds (seriously can you picture a couple of guys at BLI sitting around with a microphone and attempting to say interesting, realistic railroad-like things for a recording), and I didn't care for the sound overall.  The QSI whistle, chuff, etc. sound much better from a quality and realism standpoint.

Even so, this is just my observation and don't take it personal, as it is a nice engine overall.

I thought the extra wheels on the PT4 tender looked cooler than the simple dual 3 axle tender.

Re: BLI Paragon2 NYC J1e/d Hudson Video/Audio Clip

Sounded pretty darn good. I have a Paragon II Hudson with the QSI sound. Yours sounds nothing like mine. Whistle is the main thing. I will see if I can find time to post a small video if you would like to hear what mine sounds like.

Are your CV's stock or have you fiddel with them? I have never played with the CV's in mine and does not start out as smoothly as yours.

For under $200.00 seems like a great deal. I paid around $250.00 for mine three years ago of E-Bay. If you find time, maybe some pictuers? Like to see if the details are driffrent, they should be the same from what I have been told from BLI.

Aparrently there are other whistles than can be accessed on the Paragon 2 hudson. I also like the quilling feature as seen in the video below.

CV's are stock. I ran the engine around the layout without sound to see and hear how smooth it really is.

Very smooth.
