Big Smile [:D] Re: In Re: Locked Thread Warrne Buffet is Robbing BNSF railroad.

All of this mentioning of Marx, etc just made me realize something a bit ironic to me.  One of the reporting marks used by Mid-American Energy, a Berkshire Hathaway company is, MARX.  Others are MAXX and MRDX.

Jeff

The MARX reporting mark brought four things to mind: Harpo, Chico and Groucho, and also the brand of non-Lionel O-gauge toy trains that was still around at least in the early fifties.

As I recall, the Marx trains were tinnier than the Lionel trains and thus were cheaper. At least that was the way I felt about my Marx train set. I was much happier with a nice Athearn Santa Fe set a couple of years later.

MARX trains were kind of made from a lighter grade of tin. And their lithography--especially on their older ones--- left a lot to be desired. I will say one thing though---one sees a lot of them still at various flea markets----at reasonable prices if your an antique toy collector

You forget Zeppo, not that he was around long.

And Gummo, yes, there were five Marx brothers.
