Re: COFFEE POT #13 [November], for all to take a drink and chat. Welcome all posters. 4 yrs old and still going.

Mornin’ Boys,

Fog and clouds right now up to 78 or so.  Kinda describes my mood “fog & clouds”.

Don B, That is a nice helix.

for everyone – really going through a rough patch here, so there hasn’t been anything new – I’ve trying to get caught up at work.   They’re not selling cars but keeping me busy, just the same.

With everything going on at home, I COMPLETELY forgot about Take your Train to Work Day tomorrow.  I’ll have to check and see if I can get something together.  Weather here should be the best in 3 years, so I can do this outside.

I haven’t heard from the Philly job, I was supposed to call them yesterday, but I wound up going to Ocala at the last minute.  Thank God, I didn’t miss my appointment last night, it would have killed me.

OK, well, I’ll check back later.

Good morning all,

It is cool again today in SE Indiana with the rain ending sometime.  Patrick, I should have mentioned you need to up the power on the stabilizers two notches when Don's neighbor is on-board.  You may have to steal some power from the communication systems, but well.... it IS worth the sacrifice.    Brent, good to hear from you, and I have been there are far as the amount of time you have (not) been spending with the Q.  Just tell her, "this too shall pass"....and duck.  Dennis, sounds like you are making progress on the movie, and I like the statements you made about the forum as well.

Did weights, soccer drills (12 touches!) and treadmill (13:45 mile jog) last night.  Watched "Glee".  That show will have you ROTFLMAO one minute and tearing at your hear the next.  I had the regular fare on the dining car this morning before sending it on to "Points East".  TBIL, and we can flip coins to see who drives.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good Morning

40s with some showers last nite. Not much though.

I smell breakfast, boy I sure would miss that cook. I will be taking granny to visit her sisters today, about an hour and a half drive. Looked through OGR yesterday but no reading yet. Had a chat with Brutus and  RT last night.

Have a great day...S.J.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a gloomy 50 degrees. Only going up to 55 today, with cloudy skies. It rained on and off last night.

Today is a busy day. Wife is grocery shopping in Cambridge.  Gas prices are still high. $2.69 a gallon. That's strange, since oil prices are still low.

I need to run trains today. Hopefully. Legs are achy, due to humidity.

Dining car was here from " Points West ". We had the usual for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Thursday.

Chuck

SPMan:

Pat, speaking of dove hunting, a friend of mine used to tell me about going.  I guess the b**ast is the only part big enough to eat and you have to have several I gather.  Haven't had any game to eat in years.  My brother in Virginia hunts in the Winter but it's too hard for me to do now.  Too far to drive etc etc.  I've even just about given up on fishing which I love but we are too far from the good places.  Do people still eat squirrel?  Seems like they were eating gray squirel in the winter months when I was a kid back in the 40's but maybe it was because of meat rationing during WWII,  Squirrel looks too much like a rat to me.  We used to have wild rabbit but that was pretty good.  Of course Venison is what most hunters like or pheasant and quail.

Glad you got your corn in before the weather got you.

later,

Ray

Ray - You are right. The b**ast is the only part of a dove worth fooling with and it takes us three a piece for a meal.

Here in Virginia we hunt deer, turkey, dove, quail, bear, squirrel, rabbit, pheasant  and would you believe raccoon? These are hunted as food.

In addition, here on the farm, we also hunt ground hog, possum, rats and a few wild dogs when they go after the animals. Coyotes are said to be in our area but I haven't seen them.

Speaking of WWII meat ratoning, I remember my dad comming home with great tasting meat, great untill we found out it was horse meat!

Any farmers ponds near by for fishing? Some of the best fishing is in farmer's ponds, and you help reduce the fish numbers.

Pat

Morning all.  Being lazy as have had several long days and nights.  Watching WWII in HD on History Channel.  Pretty good.  Now going to gym to work out.  Raining [what is new].  Talked to "lake folks" last night and they said bring camera.  Lake is as high as it has ever been in years.  No parking sign at ramp is about under water.   Might just have to take time and drive up to photo.  Got too much on "calendar".

Jim T, not familiar with them but they are a NC business so they are great.  Also, try Miss Edna [Todd's Train Depot] for things like that [919-365-5006].

Sir J, had my big bowl of grits this AM along with two slices of toast with butter and strawberry jam.

Jon, good talking to you last night.  Enjoy sunny CA.  Don't SHAKE or BAKE.

Later.

Getting ready to head out for the morning, shorts and sunglasses ready!  Sharyl finishes up after lunch and it will be nice to have her company.  I'm going to Balboa Park after an iHop breakfast.  As far as shaking and baking that can wait until Sunday

Good to chat with you Frank last night, sure looking forward to the museum and meeting Doug.

Cloudy, gloomy and rainy today. The cows don't mind, the pastures love it, and I get to be inside with the trains. Not to shabby!

Jon - The $81.00 fee for Seaworld makes the $7.00 cost for a major train show look like a bargain.

Mike C - Thanks for the tip on stealing power for the Tardis. What inquiring minds want to know is what were you stealing from Don's neighbor!

I have a box setting here from Trainz.com. Can't remember what all I ordered. Better open it and find our.

TBIL Using the fog piercing option.

Pat

Aloha from a rainy Crystal Lake. Going to try to run out to do some Christmas shopping /returns whilst the bride is busy - yes, I already got a gift she won't like so have to take it back. Looks like a full day here. Almost TGIF...

You should complain..

Gas here is the equivelant of $8.40 a gallon and going up every day the government are slapping on another 21 cents tax in January..
