WCfan:That's pretty neat Tyler, although I wouldn't mind some captions under the pictures. The actual calendar has them under all the photos - I've just replaced the old screenshot on the download page with an image of the new calendar, with the captions.

modelbnsfer:Sawyer- haven't touched the train in a month and havent worked on it for over 6 so don't feel bad.
lol, ok man. I'm hopefully going to add some more woodland scenics grass tonight, either to the ditch or the other "field" by the interchange track.

Re: Teen Model Railroader Place- November 2009
My RDCs arrived today! I'm still hunting for the coupler boxes to my 2 RDC3s so I can run those in consist with my 3 new RDC2s. I just finished weathering them, pix will be up later tonight when the parents come back with the camera. Still waiting on that second GP15 though.

I found the coupler boxes, just need to strip off the old weathering from the RDC3s and I'll have a 5 car train!

Hey
Is your layout finished and do you operate yours with like car cards or a switch list and is this your first layout because your diorama pixs were really nice, better then some of the ones in mr.
What kind of airbrush do you use because I would like to get one but have no idea what brands are good or what I even need.
Taylor
I have an old Passhe that was my dad's, I love it and still sprays great. I have had my eye on the SATA minijets. They are automotive grade airbrushs, cost about $300. Good quality though.

Nice buy GG. The weathering looks good. I can't tell if you did or not by the photos, but if you didn't, I think you should add (add more) grime to the bottom of the cars to represent dirt/mud being thrown up from the balast and the wheels. I don't think there would be very much soot along the bottom of cars (especially the pilots). The only place you could have soot is around the two Detroit Diesel engines located in the middle of either side of the car.

I didn't want to over-do it but yes, they all have weathering on the under frames.

When I buy 4 and 6 function decoders for ditch lights on the GP15s and GP18s, then I can give you a decoder to put in one of the RDCs plus alpha-numeric decals to reletter one "NHDOT" because the citizens on my railroad WANT COMMUTER RAIL!

Pffft! Buy your own commmuter trains! I'll take decoders anyway though!

Re: Teen Model Railroader Place- November 2009
Sweet pics GG. Finished up the weathering on my locos today. Surprised at how easily that red weathers compared w/ ATSF blue. Think I WELL overdid it though, so while they still aren't horrible, I will probably end up redoing them along with the U23B when I get the funding for some new shells etc. from Atlas (just something I've wanted to do, and keeps these original shells how they are for comparison/memories). but anyways, did a bit more scenery work today, though the weathering was the main focus.

Guilford Guy:Pffft! Buy your own commmuter trains! You were the one lobbying for them in the first place! Maybe I'll get a long-distance Boston - White River Junction (to connect with the Montrealer) Amtrak service. An F40PH and a trio of Amfleet coaches should do it. I'll name it the Red Wing or the Alouette after the Boston & Maine trains that once served the line... Nashua, Manchester, and Concord have wanted passenger service for a long time and I bet Boston would like a connection to Montreal that doesn't require going via Springfield.

Yeah...I'm thinking that this will be a long-time goal for me - there is money for trains in the budget (my Kodak Zi8 camera is coming in this week and I'm not getting a DSLR until I need to!) but I have loads of projects that take priority over an optional passenger train...which I'd still need a locomotive plus a decoder for.
