Huh?
I'm sure my English teacher would FLIP if she saw a run-on sentence like that. Today, she lectured us for 40 minutes on "the proper use of commas and avoiding sentences that make no sense..." And the worst part is, we have our double tomorrow. 80 minutes of who knows what crap... But at least it's a split double (good thing for B lunch, cause it goes 40, lunch (40), 40. Normally doubles are 83 minutes straight through, but if you get lucky, you can have a split double on Thursday and/or Friday.
On Fridays, I have double Algebra and then C lunch. We don't eat till 12:28 (6th period, so you have 6 periods [1,2,3,4,5,56{no, that's not a mistake, 56 really does exist...}, lunch)(that's really late when your regular scheduled lunch is A, which is at 11:02...), but then you only have 2 periods after lunch. And speaking of Friday and double Algebra, one of my best friends is transferring out on Friday. Tomorrow is my last class with her, double Theology. She was the my first friend in HS, cause we had basically every class together last year (other than people I already knew)...

Re: Teen Model Railroader Place- November 2009
I think the run-on was to stress all the running/walking he did, the least being me showing him the trainly stuff around town. 40 minute periods? We have 56 minute periods and 3 minutes to dart from one building to another. And days with double AP Bio... 2 hours of it! Blech! Actually I'm a lot happier with my English class this year than last year, but other than that its about the same other than getting last period off several days each week.

Yeah...that and the never-ending movement of it all - one thing lead right into the next. That was an interesting day...I was mostly on a combination autopilot / sugar high to keep myself awake while writing that post. The "Thud" came from my head hitting the keyboard - I hoped it would make more sense than the nonsense typed by my face.
------------------------------- I updated my website to include a Photo Gallery...it includes most of the good photos I've taken of the railroad that are not elsewhere on the site.

Nice Ty! I like the photo gallery, that's the best part of any website! My favorite photo is still the night shot in the rain, with the headlight shining through the whole mess.
What's the next step Ty? I think with all the photos taken, WRS should produce a company calendar!

Yeah, I like that shot too. And since you requested, here's a WRS Calendar! Just follow the directions on the page to download your own!

Re: Teen Model Railroader Place- November 2009
If we're talking class periods, my school has 51 min. periods w/ 6 mins. in between to walk to your next class. But on homeroom days, the class periods are usually 48 mins. w/ homeroom in between 2nd and 3rd period. On assembly schedule or early dismissal days (1st. wednesday of every month), the periods are even shorter. Haven't done much on the alyout this week, jsut some scenery work.

Alex and others: If you want to wait to download, I'm working on a higher resolution 300ppi VS 72ppi) version with photo descriptions - I'll post again here when it's done and posted on the website.

Re: Teen Model Railroader Place- November 2009
Hey Everyone
You guys all have confusing schedules. Mine is 1,2,3(15 minutes longer for homeroom time),4, lunch 5,6 hour and its like that everyday of the year. My high school is small though so you guys probably go to big high schools.
Sawyer- haven't touched the train in a month and havent worked on it for over 6 so don't feel bad.

Re: Teen Model Railroader Place- November 2009
Cool. Thanks Ty!
And I can beat all of your crazy schedules, I definately have the simplest:
7 periods of 50 minutes, 5 minutes between each class except between periods 2 and 3, we get 15 minutes break. Period 5 is lunch.

What you guys need is the Flex-Mod scheduling...

That's pretty neat Tyler, although I wouldn't mind some captions under the pictures.

Tyler: That calendar is sick! I'm gonna haveta print me out one...
modelbnsfer:My high school is small though so you guys probably go to big high schools.
Not even close. We only have about 500 kids. Catholic school, that's why. And it seems like it's shinking by the second, since people keep leaving...
Jordan- That makes zero sense to me...
Here's mine: Monday Lab Double 1, 2, 3, 5, 56, 6, Double 7 (no 4 and 8) Tuesday Lab Double 2, 3, 4, 5, 56, 6, Double 8 (no 1 and 7) Wednesday Non-Lab 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 56, 6, 7, 8 (all classes) Thursday Lab Double 3, 4, 1, Double 5, 56, 8, 7 (no 2 and 6) Friday Lab Double 4, 1, 2, 56, Double 6, 7, 8 (no 3 and 5)
For me, 1st is Chem H, 2 is Band, 3 is Theology, 4 is Gym (driver's ed 1st quarter, gym 2nd and 4th quarters, and writing [ugh] 3rd quarter), 5 is lunch, 56 is English H, 6 is Algebra 2 H, 7 is US History, and 8 is Spanish 2. On Thursdays and Fridays, you usually end up with a different lunch. For example, my regular lunch (M-W) is A (period 5). On Thursdays, I have B, and I have C on Fridays. I just wish there was double lunch.
Each class is 40 minutes, with 3 minutes in between, and doubles are 83 minutes. Homeroom starts at 8 and ends at 8:07 (first block [I would say period, but 1st period is not always first] starts at 8:10). I'm not gonna go through the entire day, but I'll say that last period ends at 2:34. On Faculty Meeting days (1st Wednesday of the month), classes are 30 minutes, and we get out at 1:04. On Liturgy days (when we have Mass), it's wierd (it's like homeroom, 1, 2, homeroom again, liturgy, 5, 56, 6, 4, 7, 8, or something like that [I'm too lazy to reach over and look at the schedules in our planner...]). We have a different schedule for every possible scenario, and it gets kinda annoying...
I'll shut up now...
