Re: The Flat Wheel Cafe and Diner, November Edition

Please to remember the Fifth of November--Gunpowder, Treason and Plot! I see no reason for Gunpowder Treason EVER to be forgot! Happy Guy Fawkes Day, everybody!! Now, if we're good Brits, let's go out this evening and join in a party that is burning a Guy. (My mother learned the rhyme from the children of British missionaries when she was a small girl in Japan, more than a century ago.)

Why chase them; what had the done? Surely they did not turn your outhouse over?

.......Not a cloud in the sky, and it is to continue for days and become warmer.

Good afternoon, everyone.  Mookie, our minds must be on the same wave length today:  I went grocery shopping also, and tomorrow will be laundry day.

Since the weather is so nice and sunny, even though it's on the breezy side, Mutt and I have fired up the grill, and you will find on the warmer bar:  steaks, pork chops, baby back ribs, chicken, brats and burgers, along with corn on the cob, baked beans, cole slaw, potato salad (American and German).  There also are brussels sprouts and broccoli w/butter sauce and green beans.

Everyone enjoy, have a good, safe evening and you all take care.

Re: The Flat Wheel Cafe and Diner, November Edition

Good Friday morning, everyone.  Gee, I wonder if anyone will be in here this morning, since no one was in at all last night.    Everything from the grill and warmer bar has been thrown out, it's in the garbage now, and grill, warmer bar and all the dishes are cleaned up.

We have a current temp of 38 degrees here in Louisville this morning.  Supposed to get up to about 68 this afternoon, with plenty of sunshine.  Looks like it's going to be a beautiful autumn day.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready.  On the warmer bar, you'll find bagels, bear claws  and muffins.

I don't know what to think about the shootings at Ft. Hood yesterday.  Heard this morning, that he wounded 31 people, then heard 32, then back down to 31.  With the count of 32, were they including the gunman, after the police officer shot him?  My sympathy and prayers are with all the family members and the entire base.  Not trying to sound crass or anything, but I think that psychiatrist needs a psychiatrist.  Hopefully, he'll get the help he needs.

Good morning. It's plumb cold in Carolina this morning. 37 degrees at sunrise, and we've got frost on the punkin and everything else. Thanks for breakfast, and I may just sit in the corner with my root beer and contemplate something. Everybody stay warm and safe

Yuk.  Don't think I feel bad because I had two flu shots last night (although it could be a consideration).  I think it's just that it's Friday and the end of a looooooonnnnnnnnngggggggg week.

On the up-side, the CNY-NRHS train show in Syracuse is this weekend and we cancelled a fire department drill for Sunday, so I might go down both days...

If there's room in the corner booth, I'll conspire with you while I partake of my tea and bearclaw.

Mid afternoon and 53.8 in temp with mostly sunny conditions.  Just returned from our mall and it sure is full of Christmas....Excellent fish, crackers w/butter, cherry pie....{ummm good}, and coffee for lunch. {At our MCL}, cafeteria.  They really do have consistent good food.  But it is not cheap.....and I'm not complaining since it is good food.

Even got to drive along side an east bound CSX train as we were headed west just out of Muncie to our west side home.  Plus, ran truck thru the car wash.  Now it's time to check around on here for a while.

Good evening. I enjoyed contemplating something with you guys, but it seems to have given me a headache. We need to do it again soon. My desktop thermometer (weatherbug) is on the fritz and lying to me. Although the settings are correct, it seems to be giving me the temp for Havana.... Everybody take care and have a great weekend

Re: The Flat Wheel Cafe and Diner, November Edition

I finally gave Weatherbug the heave ho and went back to The Weacher Channel desktop weather and that solved the problem. The old one was about 17 degrees off. We shall see how long this one works as it should. Killing time on the wireless till the wife gets home from helping with the twins and have had a fairly good and interesting evening. Take care, stay warm.

Central Indiana is into another beautiful morning....clear blue skies and bright sunshine.  Brisk this morning, but to warm up nicely today.  Tomorrow too.
