Union Pacific Business Train 19 September 2009

Hi Guys,  I am a UK Railfan/Photographer. On Saturday 19th September at Caliente CA,,  I photographed UP SD70Ms 3898/4273 with 3 Business cars 'Colimbine/Challenger/Feather River' southbound at 9.00am. I am interested in establishing the train's origination and destination points if any kind person can help.  Thank You.

I trace them from time to time on Steelroads. I beleive I recall a UP biz train running from Lathrop to Colton yard.

Mark,

Please tell me more about this steelroads website. Do you have to be a shipper to join? How do you track passenger traffic ?

I work for an intermodal shipper. It's all password protected and you have to have a railroad rep vouch for you before they let you in. Before 9-11 you could get all kinds of info. Now, unless your company is a named participant in the shipment, you can't see much. I can see the last AEI scanned location. I can guess the origins & destinations sometimes by the locations where they dwell a while.
