Elliot's Trackside Diner, Mark XIX
Good morning! Welcome to the same old diner just moved a couple of tracks over. The track crew got a brand new siding all set up for us. Even started up an old RS1 to do the moving: Start the engine boys!
Probably a good idea to get the move done as the old track was having some issues with that wrap around thing. So sit down and order up on me this morning! 73

blownout cylinder:Those are neat engines- Sure are, and that one still has the original Alco Prime Mover in her. We have at least one RS1, an RS2, and of course the RS3 #211 with the EMD 567B rebuild on board. Flo, I managed to work up an appetite getting the dining car to a new track so I think I'll have the #2 special this morning. Over easy on the eggs, bacon, homefies, and a double order of sourdough toast to tide me over 'til lunch. Oh and my usual for coffee in a R&GV mug! I'll be at the Rivet Counter watching Barry do his homew**k. 73

Thanks for taking care of the move Ray. I like the new siding - nice and level. One thing we find at the museum is when equipment gets parked for a long period the track tends to sag under it. Guess the real operating roads never left anything standing still for as long as we do. On another note, what happens when we get to chapter 50 ? We should get a prize for talking so much . J.R.

You're welcome guys! I certainly wouldn't have left the Chapel Car sitting on the old siding, we need it right here for all those having health problems and such. Besides it was parked in the way of the move so we just coupled on to both of them for the move...... Sure was nice of them to go to all the trouble of laying a new siding for us. Here is a video of some of the work getting her ready for us: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJI_xtN37y4&feature=player_embedded I think I may have found a Rubber Chicken for the skit at church this Sunday. The local Theater Guild may have one that we can borrow. Heartland Division CB&Q:Neat video starting the RS1 ......Shhhhhhhhh ....don't tell the EPA .... Well, it is an ALCO.....

Milk and a Dale's Sauce drowned steak, Zoe.
Speaking of RS-3's, I saw two of the Delaware Lackawanna's RS-3's. They hava a sharp looking quartet of RS's, and they make your heart skip a beat when they throttle up. Here is some pics of the fleet on northeast.railfan.net Jeff: Good luck! Ulrich: Good luck as well! I've got another project going on. I'm makeing a piece of bead packing foam into a diarama with a bridge crossing a river in a gully. I'll post pics when the camera charges.

"Hi, just a cup of hot coffee please"
Whoa hey, thanks for the nice 'Welcome' Its always nice to be around others to talk about trains. I've been busy all morning it seems. Took my son's car to get smog certifide, seems that took up the better part of the morning. Well I did wash it as well. He and his sister are hundreds of miles away in college. Took my second oldest 5 years to get through with Junior College, my youngest 3 years. But they are both living together.. and walk to the campus which is only two blocks away. Which is the very reason why I have his car now. My oldest son is moving today, wow.. empty house. Woo Hoo~ ! Maybe Jeanne will go out dinning and dancing... lol. So my wife comes home for lunch.. I was working on my layout.. she's gone now.. and here I am. Just wanted to drop in and say hello~

Just psoted in the old diner, my bad. Well, I'll jsut re-post here. I'm feeling good, but I'm tired, it's been a long week. I ain't gonna go to the football game tonight. I do think i'll probably work my tail off on the soldering tomorrow on my layout, we'll see how much I actually get done though.

SAWYER: Good to see ya Pal, glad you're out of the plastic bubble...I might disinfect it and stuff my wife in it before her head cold/creeping crud wipes me out too.
SUE: Good afternoon Ma'am *tips the hat to the lady*
KEITH: Smog inspection? Glad I'm in Iowa... right now with all the repairs my '97 Ford Ranger pickup needs...it'd likely be condemed if it were inspected. Still runs good. Makes about 18 mpg...just kinda falling apart underneath... Overall not bad for 200,700 miles and counting.
It has gotten colder throughout the afternoon. At least the sky is clearing, so no rain on this photographer w**king up and down the sideline tonight. Homecoming for Clear Creek Amana, the school district THAT editor assigned to me. I'm hoping the brand new concession stand at the brand new stadium (the Mecca of high school football stadiums) has decent coffee and/or hot chocolate tonight...I'm gonna need it.
No staff meeting this morning (YAY!) but w**king tonight, so got a little farther on the XTRA hoppers. Here's part of what it takes to make an Athearn PS-2 look like a Portec hopper:

The ends are the worst as the "end cage" gets some pretty heavy surgery to narrow-up parts, hack-out some pieces, scab-in some others... All in the name of having something a little different eventually rolling on a layout.

Good afternoon. I just put up the "stars" so you can find the new location easier.
I'm thinking of Jeff. I suppose he had the operation, and he is looking forward to returning home to his layout. Jeff has been thru a lot, and I say he is one of the most inspiring people in the forum. He keeps doing all sorts of stuff while enduring his diabetic condition. I'm glad to see all the names of people concerned for him. I hope somebody here is in contact with his family.

Re: Elliot's Trackside Diner, Mark XIX
Got the surgery done and I'm back home. My nephew took me to the hospital this morning then came back to pick me up when they called him to tell him I needed to be picked up. There was one perplexing moment though. As I was getting dressed to leave the hospital I noticed this rather large dark red puddle on the floor then looked up toward my foot which was propped on the edge of the bed and saw a thick stream of blood coming through the bandages. I called to the nurses in the room somewhat urgently and informed them that I was bleeding like a stuck pig and could use some assistance. Three of them quickly unwrapped it, applied new dressings over the old ones and did a rather professional job of wrapping it up again. They surmised that what had come out was what had collected from just after the surgery. So far I haven't had another bleeder moment and I'm taking care to insure that I don't.

Hey Jeff: Glad to hear that all went well and that you are home recuperating. Make sure and take your doctor's advice and don't try to speed up your recovery. Dr. Joe
